Dinosaurs Carnivore/Carnivore and Carnivore/Herbivore cohabitation ideas

Currently it is impossible to coexist carnivores with herbivores in the same enclosure or to cohabit carnivores of the same size but of different species. Because either carnivores kill herbivores or carnivores kill each other, which is not a problem in itself. the problem is that it lacks logic and the fighting is triggered for no reason.
In nature nowadays (and even in the past) many predators cohabit peacefully in the same ecosystem. In the wild plains of North America, bears coexist with wolves, coyotes, pumas, lynxes and wolverines. In Africa, lions cohabit with hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, jackals, cracales and crocodiles.
Of course it happens that fights is triggered, and often for the same reason: the lack of food! But when the food is in sufficient quantity everyone lives together in peace!
I propose that this be added to the game, the carnivores will live in peace as long as the number of feeders in the enclosure will be sufficient: 1 feeder per species. if a fedder is empty, disabled, deleted, or even sabotaged or falls down, the carnivores will start fighting each other again!

Other things, in nature, hunting predators than when they are obliged to do so. But if it can, all the carnivores will prefer to scavange, they prefer easy food (which does not run away, which does not defend itself). This too could be added to the game, with a food prioritization system for carnivores.
it's very simple, carnivores eat first in feeders or goats (or carcass), if none of this is available, carnivores will attack herbivores.
As for Spinosauridae: they eat primarily fish, if there are no fish they will eat in feeders to carnivores and goats, and finally herbivores.
Summary :
Normal carnivores: feeders and goats> herbivores
Spinosaurid: Fish Feeders> Feeders and Goats> herbivores

I agree with everything and already suggested all this in my previous dinosaur artificial intelligence post, particularly in regards with territorial behaviour.

Linking those to feeders is also a neat idea (I suggested linking them to map coords, since maps are always the same), although I'm not completely sure how feeders work exactly currently?

I've notice that, for herbs at least, a feeder with 25 capacity can sustain up to 20 animals (more or less) before they decide they are starving. Carnis never have this problem, even when two incompatible species are forces to coexist on wide enclosures.

Can't you already turn off dino fights in sandbox?

Besides that, "coexist" in the wild, and purpetual peaceful coexistance in the captivity of a paddock a fraction the size of their natural territorial range are two very different realities. That, and the theme of the IP is that the animal behavior does not conform itself to what you find convenient and orderly.

Problem with disabling dino fights in sandbox is that a) it prevents carnivores from using live bait feeders and b) it disables ALL fights period. I often find myself wanting to disable fights in certain enclosures, but wanting to have them in others. There's no happy medium - either all dinos don't fight or they all fight to the death, and when they fight its not even typically for any good reason.

I would love to see something like what the OP suggested because it would be a welcome step up from how things currently are in-game. I still think it would be nice to have some other ways to help control the behavior of the dinosaurs in combination with this, which could be done through genes. There could be pacifist genes to make a dino less inclined to fight, or outright avoid them altogether, and aggression genes to do the inverse : to make them more likely to fight. The more aggressive a dino is, the more likely it will prioritizing fighting/hunting other dinos instead of feeders and vice versa for passive. I think i need to make a separate thread to hash out some of the ideas i have for dino improvements lol..

Great idea. Would love to see this. Even in jpog large carnivores could co exist for hours with one always running away or avoiding the other before they finally killed each other. The dinos in that game seemee to have different personalities.

Wonderful! A prioritization system for carnivores is a wonderful solution for coexisting with herbivores and other carnivores. Like you said, predators (in nature) will always choose the path of least resistance. They wouldn't bother fighting each other or hunting if plentiful food sources are available. I really love your ideas about dinosaur behavior; you're solutions are to-the-point and immediately applicable to the largest problems with the game...the dinosaurs. Please work for Frontier, sounds like their lead programmers abandoned the project.

I like the idea, but like Aramus alluded too, I doubt two large carnivores would be happy living in close proximity in a paddock, even with sufficient food. I only see this making sense in a site B mode, where the player allows the dinosaurs to roam freely. But I guess not everything has to make perfect sense. I also like the idea of pacifist genes though, like Ahartts suggested.
