Carnivore Hunting Update

I think carnivores should have a separate meter for hunting. Currently, carnivores seem to hunt whenever their hunger meter drops a small amount. Ignoring any nearby corpses other pack mates have recently slain, carnivores will choose to repeat the same animation and kill another herbivore.

The addition of a separate hunting meter and allowing the hunger meter to prioritise corpses and carnivore feeders over a fresh kill would allow groups of carnivores to satisfy their hunting instincts without exhausting the local ecosystem at a rate you can't manage.

Like real world animals, our cloned dinos should prefer the path that wastes the least amount of energy. If their isn't a carnivore feeder, or a fish feeder for our piscivores, made available they should still hunt down or pick a fight with a herbivore.

A feature like this would solve the issues inherent to Site B parks, in which you have to constantly restock your populations. In the current hunger-only system, killing an herbivore refills the hunger meter before they even attempt to eat it. Because carnivores currently prioritize hunting over eating, they usually hunt down another herbivore rather than eating the one they've already slain. This causes even standard non-hybrid dinosaurs to leave a wake of bodies across their territory. Hunting should be resolved to its own instinctual need like it was in JPOG with hunger being refilled only by the carnivore actually consuming meat from the kill.

It could even be bound to dinosaur fighting as well. For example, you could have a big reserve enclosure in a park with allosaurus and stegosaurus. The allosaurus would only engage in a fight with a stegosaurus when its hunting meter needed to be refilled.

This hunting meter should drain very slowly on average compared to how the hunger meter drains. While remaining slower to drain than hunger, it should drain at increased rates depending on the species. Pack hunting may even be possible with the addition of a few new animations and somehow synching the social group's hunting meter to the alpha's meter. Velociraptors should need to hunt fairly frequently compared to most "natural" carnivorous dinos, but not at the serial killer-like rate of carnivorous hybrids.

The indominus, indoraptor, and spinoraptor should have a hunting meter that drains faster or just as quickly as their hunger meter, making the hybrid trio into genetically engineered theme park monsters. Nothing more and nothing less.

This whole update would also make live bait feeders a requirement for true carnivores that aren't allowed access to herbivores. Afterall, T. rex doesn't want to be fed. She wants to hunt...
