That's deeply sad news.
What is it with this year, it's like it's cursed. Leonard Nimoy, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Anton Yelchin, Leonard Cohen, Henry Heimlich, John Glenn, George Micheal, a fair few others and now Carrie Fisher. All of them different ages, most of them no where even near their twilight years. It just doesn't make sense. the recap of 2016 is going to sound like an obituary of pop culture giants.

Sadly, it is a consequence of poor life choices. I see people die from poor life choices quite a bit. It is the leading cause of death if you ask me.
