Hi Just wanted to point out to FD and see if anyone else is noticing this. Celeste in-game sounds nothing like what she sounds like in the preview on the store. On the Store (and in the brief phrase on the Livery preview) she has a fairly strong French accent. In-game she sounds very different, a british accent. It's especially noticeable on "Frameshift drive charging". I purchased this voicepack specifically because of the French accent in the preview.

Am I the only one noticing this? Has FD commented? (did a search but didn't turn up anything)

I noticed it, too. She sounds awful in-game, like a text-to-speech program from the early 2000’s. Doesn’t sound French at all.

Have to agree there.

It's okay, but in retrospect I would have liked another preview Video in the Store (other than the spoken intro text) simply showcasing these typical in-game Phrases.
That type of preview IMHO is needed to avoid such surprises.

i don't think it sounds like what's on the store at all. in game it actually sounds like a mix of two different people. it's bizarre. not saying i feel like i've been mis-sold something but eh, something not quite right with the voicepack (to me, anyway). let's put it this way, if i'd heard the ingame voice on the store, i wouldn't have bought it.

I guess I figured it was french because isn't Celeste a french name? Ah well either way it doesn't sound anything in game like what the preview does

I agree 100%.

Something isn't right with this voice pack.

I think the Celeste in the store preview sounds way too much like an English person's caricature of a French person speaking English. It sounds way too fake. English people - French people that speak English to a good degree of fluency do not sound like Yvette from 'Allo 'Allo.

Her in-game voice is much more natural, it's what a native French speaker who's experienced in speaking English sounds like IRL.

Just my 2p.

Sounds very consistent and quite natural to me.

Source: Me. English and French speaker. Lots of friends who are French, from various regions of France and speak English to a wide variety of competence.

Funny thing is, that Celeste's voice is not generated or anything but spoken by an actual person. So it's definitely natural, though filtered. The voice actor's name is even listed under the YouTube video I linked earlier.
