CG predictions...

Redden remembered that the Phagos dredger was originally found in the 2.4 beta

apparently the logs talked of spider like cyborgs ... they certainly aren't rushing the story :)

That shot suggests there are 13 more such installations, out somewhere.
Wasn't there a CG (bringing samples to colonia) that was actually about starting those ? I think I saw at least a list of 4 systems where new research outposts should be implanted...

Found it on Jan 14 3007
The Holloway Bioscience Institute now plans to establish experimental habitats for vacuum lifeforms in the following systems:

Eol Prou PC-K c9-221
Eol Prou LW-L c8-99
Eol Prou KW-L c8-301
Eol Prou PC-K c9-154

Maybe paying them a visit could be interesting ?

More about the main topic and doing some guesswork... Do you think the materials for the 2nd batch of Megaships will be the same ? Or will they change it ?
It would make sense for the commodities to be the same, but that would show a bit of lack of imagination.

Checking one now, nothing changed since their setup. Still worth a visit if you've not been before, of course.
I didn't realise it was all in the colonia area. I'll have a quick look around. The systems seem very little documented in the Database (some don't even appear as known in spanch) and these installations probably have never been visited a lot before.

They have tourist beacons, so they're reasonably common destinations for passenger missions, and the
megaship
can also be a mission destination.

Boosting up the industrial production of tritium refinery to increase supply or resupply rate?
(y) I was wondering if they'd use it as an economy-busting way to boost Trit supplies in Colonia (as that is what ppl really want). I was thinking of stocking up my Colonia FC at one of the nearby CB m/s, but they were all showing zero supply already ...

When I checks the new CB Megaships on the colonia side, they had around 1kT of Tritium each. That isn't enough to have a stream of FC making it back and forth Colonia wthout having to mine Tritium on the way. I didn't move my FC (the Diamond of Borann) to fuel up because I think depleting these pit stops to be the opposite of what they are here for. If everyone gets no more than 150T, then a lot of FCs probably can use the bridge smoothly. But one player stockpiling Tritium certainly ruins the whole thing.

Refuelling FCs in Colonia/on the way seems to be a great problem, and if the CB megaships are "refining" spots their supply clearly isn't enough. If they are a suply chain, Tritium could then be imported via the bridge...
For me it would make sense to have production AND price raise at megaship systems everytime the supply gets exhausted... The mining becoming more and more profitable each time for NPCs.

Sadly, there is little chance that it will ever work this way.

My bet on phase 2 still is on a commodity gathering pair of CG's for the rests of the megaships (copy/paste the first one, being the most probable option).
For phase 3 I really like the idea of a mining Tritium set of CGs (Maybe 56 of them ?) to fill the Tritium spupply on the bridge. Does anyone know if frontier can set up tens of CG's at the same time ? Each megaship having it's own little competition would really be something fun ! They could also make phase 3 long lasting by making a pair of CG's at each side of the bridge (1+56 ; 2+55 ; etc...) from week to week. (28 total)

Thanks !

I never do passenger missions, I checked and I was surprised by the whole vibe of "experimental habitat 4".
So these installations are not at all comparable to the ground one with the spiders. :(
I will go and check the
Beckett Class Science Vessel GUC-916 in Eol Prou PC-K c9-221
now :D

EDIT : sorry for the double post

The most simultaneous CGs I've seen is 6 either in the Lugh conflict or during the Cerberus plague. Actually it might have been 9 during the plague. I don't know if it's a hard limit or just how far they got before diminishing returns really kicks in.

I see a bunch of megaships have shown up in eddb around the Thargoid attacks:

  • Liberator BF39 Pleiades Sector PD-S b4-0 Megaship
  • Acropolis BH90 Shenve Megaship
  • Saviour XI18 Evangelis Megaship
  • Saviour KN89 Haki Megaship
  • Saviour CJ89 Lembass Megaship

These aren't Rescue ships (which I would expect given the attacked stations). I don't think we usually get m/s added - at least recently 🤔 Looks like some others (one in Asterope) have been repurposed from older ones? Not sure if it is significant, or (nice) fluff.

Interesting. Those look like Aegis designations. Aegis Defense faction, too.

Perhaps their forces aren't quite as tied up with inquiries as they complained?

ADVOCACY DEFENDS DREDGER CLAN

01 NOV 3307
The Scriveners Clan’s legal ownership of their dredger has been supported by the civil rights organisation Advocacy.
The ancient Dredger-class bulk cruiser, currently located in the Oochost PC-C c29-0 system, is inhabited by a nomadic tribe descended from the vessel’s original crew. Orion University claims that the cruiser is its commercial property, but has failed to make contact with its occupants.
Rhiannon Grady, director of Advocacy, explained:
“For centuries, there has been widespread legislation to protect remote communities from cultural contamination. These laws apply to micro-societies, such as those found aboard generation ships, that evolved in isolation.”
“Therefore, Orion University should not presume to deprive over ten thousand people of the only home they have ever known. Unlike cases such as the Golconda, which requested emergency assistance, in this case we are legally and morally obliged to respect the status quo.”
Professor Elizabeth Perez, head of anthropology at Orion University, responded:
“I was involved with the Golconda aid efforts, and fully appreciate the delicacy of this situation. But the dredger’s age and condition makes it a hazardous environment for its people. Evacuation should be considered for their own safety, with appropriate measures to minimise cultural disruption.”
The university’s megaship, Scientia Aeterna, has halted attempts to gain access to the Scriveners Clan dredger. However, it has not withdrawn its remote override of the vessel’s hyperdrive.

That nicely sets up an Advocacy vs Orion Uni CG, I’d assume. Advocacy can have (the services of) my axe fleet - just tell me when and where. 😈
Maybe next week (though it does feel like it is about time. This week should be:
The Colonia Bridge is the product of Brewer Corporation, which ran a highly successful deliveries campaign to collect resources. The megacorp has confirmed that phase two of this project will commence next week.
