Chain Link Security Fence

I have a question regarding a fence asset that I'm working on.

I've been watching a few YouTube playlists from guys like Nerdchacho and Moomin Littlesocks, where they build realistic park designs and use the chain link fence from one of the DLC packs. I can't see myself buying a DLC just for one build item, and couldn't find one in the TMTK Workshop that met my vision, so spent the past week learning Blender and TMTK. I think I have a pretty good looking fence where each piece is 2M high and 4M long. It has a left section which includes an end post and hardware (sample shown below), a middle section with intermediate posts on each end, and a right section that mirrors the left one but keeps the chain mesh on the correct side. The L0 blender object for the left post section has a tri count of 1,292 and uses an alpha clip image for the climb-resistant spacing (smaller than typical) of the chain mesh. The sections all fit together nicely, but my question is would it be better to have them on the grid or not?

Nice work!

While there are positives and negatives for both grid and non-grid placement, I think for fences I prefer non-grid placement myself, just seems to offer more possibilities in placement. But which ever you choose I'm sure these will look great in the game!

You can also add the non-grid item to a gridded building and get that grid control as needed. So I think non-grid offers the best flexibility then.

Thanks guys. I created three non-gridded objects and uploaded them to my Steam Workshop. At the moment, they're only visible to me, friends, and Admins. Not sure what the process is to get it available to everyone. I suppose Admins have to review it to make sure it's not something obscene or whatever.

If you click on each individual object on your Workshop Items page, they'll open up their specific page, on the lower right you'll see a menu for "owner controls", down towards the bottom it has an option for "change visibility", and on the drop-down menu you can change it to 'public'...

Strange! Show for all of my objects.

EDIT: Wondering if your profile on Steam is not set to 'public'? Just a wild guess, but if it isn't that might limit who you can allow access to your TMTK items?
