Challenge mode does not have all species to investigate and create

Why don't you have everything to unlock in challenge mode? What is this? I want to make a park from scratch investigating everything and I cannot let go of the species I want because not all of them are there. This was not happening in the JWE challenge and I don't understand why.

I don't understand these kinds of limitations. Give us all the species to unlock in this mode and not have to go to a specific map. It's stupid. I can't create an Carcha or an Alberto in Canada's challenge mode because ... because potatoes

At least give us in Sandbox mode the option from the menu to create a park investigating everything without limitations and conditions and I will be fully happy. Sandbox mode is creative mode, that option must be present.

Yeah i hate that.why did they change this mode it was the best thing about jwe 1 i only played this mode and now its hot garbage .
Challenge mode was allways like the jpog mode where u just build ur park from scratch thats how it should be i dont even know what mode i should play now ...man this game is a total mess they changed everything to the worse now. challenge mode was perfect in jwe1 and now its just crap.
I dont want to play only sandbox i need some progresion and goals and a challenge my god this game more and more feels like a cashgrab iam very dissapointed

Totally agree. The lack of a real challenge mode where you can simply build your park from scratch and unlock more and more in the progress as your park grows is terribly disappointing for me as well. I'm not interested in everything unlocked right away sandbox and I don't want to be restricted in what I can use in my parks either, I simply want to have a sense of progression while I'm building my park and I really hate that it's either all or nothing right now.

Just give us the option to turn on research and fossil hunting in sandbox as well and everyone would be happy, is that really so hard to do?! It won't hold anyone back if they want to dive right in have anything unlocked right away (well, you already put a lock on that with the play other modes to unlock first thing but yeah, that's been talked about plenty already...) but it also allowes us to have that progression if we want to, no harm done either way and everyone's happy. So again: why not give us that simple option?

Exactly! It’s a total non sense to not give us this option in sandbox!

Hey everyone!

As you've pointed out, Challenge Mode is a little bit different this time around. Please do keep in mind that Challenge Mode is meant to be exactly that, a challenge. You're putting your park management skills to the test and need to plan and adapt to what happens in a level.

We do appreciate the feedback though, and I will make sure to share this with the team.

Then simply give us the option to start a game in Sandbox mode with everything locked to be able to unlock all the dinosaurs without map restrictions and that the challenge mode remains as is. This is something that people are requesting a lot. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for relaying this to the team, it's a very important matter for a lot of players and I really hope we'll get that option to choose from for our sandbox parks. It would most likely be the best option all around and keep everyone happy.

Gotta say though, in all the sim and park management games I've played so far (and that's a lot) challenge always was the "build your park from scratch with fully economy and unlock everything as you progress" mode. That whole restrictions and limitations from the get go thing is something you get in scenarios and campaigns, not challenge mode.

A possibility to keep this intact while also implementing the challange mode from JWE1 that many people know and love would implementing the old challenge mode under a new name. Contract Mode, maybe.

Other than that, I have compliled a few ideas on how to improve things here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/challenge-mode-improvements.593209/
A lot of these would not mesh well with the current idea, but would work under the differently named mode. A lot more freedom to do things, but also challanges, progression, and - if desired - a healthy dose of randomness.

We all get that you planned to expand the challenge part of challenge mode but adding restrictions to what species (especially on the only map big enough to potentially use all species in one park) should have been a campaign objective. People play challenge mode for the same reason we played JPOG. To build our own Jurassic Park from the ground up.
I really don't want to criticise because I love large parts of the game but between this the pathetic excuse for a campaign and other bad design choices like incurable common colds I just find myself wanting to play something else.
JWE2 ultimately is more frustrating than fun right now.

I hate that I've ground through Canada and am close to unlocking a bunch of dinosaurs, but then need to do the same again just to unlock Albertosaurus because, bizarrely, it's not available on the Canada map.

Why?

What is the point of that limitation?
