Change to the imperial clipper

Fed ships like the FAS are slower but more agile. Imeprial ships are faster but less agile. Fed and Alliance ships are also more robust (in my opinion).

In a CZ, where its more about fighting that involves turning and close in brawling Imperial ships will lose out, because they are not designed for that style of fighting. For example, the Clipper makes for an excellent pirate vessel, the Cutter the ultimate trader and the Courier uncatchable in a straight line race- but none of those suit fighting in a CZ.
1. Imperial Clipper - Very maneuverable
2. I wasn't talking about CZ, I was talking about CG.
3. Why do they tuck in non-combat ships for combat?

1: It is, but not as good as its 'nearest' (in a loose sense) analogue with the Feds and Alliance though.
2: Its fighting in general- Clippers are bad in melee combat (weak shields, and generally weak NPC hull) and they fly like giant targets. NPCs do not play to the strengths of the ship at all.
3: What I'm trying to suggest is the NPCs fly a Clipper like a FAS (i.e. they fly everything the same), and don't instead use tactics that fit the ship better. If anything its a fault of combat in general, because there are few combat arena 'styles' in ED- its all bunched up fighting.

laughs in cutter in ax cz

Modifications to overall hull designs (ex: hardpoint placements) would be excellent engineering modifications.

I totally realize this is much more difficult to implement than current engineering mods that just effects module parameters, but it would be really excellent. Probably lots of issues with graphics, paint jobs, etc. but as a magical wish list item I really like the idea of engineering mods for customizing ship designs. I don't mean full ship redesign changes. Just things that make a ship a bit more personal for the commander. I really like customization choices.

Ya ya, I know. Low priority, lets get a game that works really good first.

The issue is that Imperial ships are not dogfighting vessels- the Courier, Clipper and Cutter are more about speed and less like Fed and Alliance ships that favour agility. Because of this, its only natural they (Imperial ships) struggle in CZs.
I view the Clipper as a Lear Jet and the Cutter as a large Lear Jet.

Just let players set their weapon convergence. That alone would fix about half the ships in the game.
1. As for convergence. It's not quite clear here. When I change the headlights on my car, I adjust the low and high beam. There are mods on the distance on the weapon up to 6km, and there is a minimum distance where the damage begins to decline. And it is not clear what distance to aim at.
2. As for changing the graphics. I always thought it was complicated, but the arxs store sells a lot of all sorts of canopies.
And if the arxs before were only for the money now it is unclear what to do with them. I already have about 25k and I do not know where to spend it.
(If my FC looked like a Hammer, I would have spent it on the look of Drake, but alas)

You can laugh, but we are talking about NPCs who don't play to the ships strengths, nor does the game have situations that favour Imp ships (so we could have a mix of CZ styles, not just mill about).
the thing is this, all imp ships are fast, its been proven time and time again that with speed, you can control the pace of the fight. Also idk if you realize this or not but you can literally control the direction where NPC ships go in reference to your ship. i can make them ram my cutter and die. this game has very simple ai in comparison to other games.
