My EDH is installed via the FDEV client installer. My EDLaunch is installed to the folder:
D:\Frontier\EDLaunch
When I installed the game I installed that to the following folder, just so it wasn't sitting under "products" folder in the above. I can't remember how I managed to specify this folder, maybe the first time I install EDH it prompted me.
D:\Frontier\Games
Anyway. Looking at the folder
D:\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products
I see ONE file in there called "
elite-dangerous-64.rdr" which I can open in notepad - and in that file it only has ONE line of text which is the folder:
D:\Frontier\Games
I'm guessing ".rdr" means redirect. So If you don't get an option to install the game to a different drive, maybe you can install it into Products as normal, then just move the files manually to another folder, create the above text file with the path in it. That "might" work.
EDIT....
As a test I deleted my "products folder with the redirect file in it" so EDH is no longer installed....

Clicking the "options" menu at the top, you can specify an installation folder:

Once you select that installation directory, the "products" folder is created and the RDR file mentioned above is created.
Next click the large INSTALL button and EDH will be installed to the selected folder.
Once EDO becomes live, I think that might be going into the same main folder, but won't know until it's released.
Hope this
