Changing head location

When I play other games with my oculus I'm standing on the floor. But when I play ed I sit in a chair so my head is way too low for the headset. Is there a way around it or recalibration of the sensors is essential?

Any other useful tips for the new VR head?

Yes after you launch ED and are sitting at main launch screen , just grab your right oculus controller and press the flat button with the Sideways O next to the A button. On the left you will see an arrow , when you focus on it your will see reset view in vr , follow the instructions on screen , your view should be reset for ED

You can reset your head-position in Elite. You can define a key in the options "reset hmd orientation".
There is a standard key, but i re-defined it from day one to a button on my HOTAS. It was F10 or F12 by default, if i recall it right.

Yup, this, I usually do a few resets once I've started the game to get the right position. Leaning back a little is advisable!

I can't read my messages (well the number) Its out of focus. But if I lean forward it becomes clear. Same as some other menus too. Its like the focus point is off slightly

Nope, thats the resolution of the display in the hmd.

If your comp can handle it you can try upping supersampling and hmd quality in the graphics menu, you can also try using a green hud instead of the default orange which can help text legibility because of how the pixels are layed out in the display.

Well I don't have that issue, I can read any text in game fine from default position and I use no supersampling what so ever and default HUD.
I had to find the absolute sweet spot on the HMD though, that is crucial.

Also a lot of the numbers in this game are just pure rt, not really important.

I would hope it can cope its brand new. Ryzen 1700x, 32 gb ram and a 1080Ti Game installed on M.2. I'll have a play with colours
