Ok pick up a mission for about 250,000 cr then half way to the delevery point get redirected to an undeliverable station. Iam flying an Anaconda so it can not land on a small station.

Yet another Delevery for 126,327 cr, I am about to dock then I am told the cargo is redirected to a point 20 Ly away. I yes I get a Bonus of 75,000 cr.

Whoopy Doo... This is a waste of my Time.

Ok just been reading about the Gardians update. Oh about time we will be able to hire NPC pilots. But OCTOBER. I have wanted this feature from the start. I will not play open Play as the last time My python got whipped by a 3 Squad fleet of REAL players there was no chance of running or fighting as they were 3 against one. So you can stuff open play.

----- End Of Rant -----

Other than the above Great Game.

My understanding is that the NPC pilots you can hire are for flying the ship launched fighters, and really have nothing to do with what you described here, so they wouldn't have helped you.

As for the mission redirect to a place you can't land...yeah, that has been an issue for a long time, and has obviously not been fixed yet. The only way around it besides abandoning the mission, is to try and swap ships...given that this issue still exists with missions, it will be interesting to see how the instant ship transfer works out when one is landed on a small or medium pad, and they summon their Anaconda, or if they summon their Anaconda when docked at an outpost...

ah yes that was my understanding too. I stopped playing for 4 months as it was loosing its way ED that is. But picked it up again when I saw a few posts about the improvments. (Engineers)

Sometimes you just have to adapt to the game the way it is instead of the way it should be.

Today

Fly a Python FTW

Tomorrow?

Who knows?

How often are you redirected, OP?
I was working on my reputation around Sol, lately, and from about 70 delivery missions I got redirected once. I do get the "bonus time - 0m remaining" quite a lot but no redirects.

Although now that you talk about it, it would be nice if in such cases the game gave you a choice to forfeit the bonus and deliver to the original location.

That would be quite annoying. I've been lucky enough to not have that happen, as I usually use my python for "go fetch" and "lug here" type missions, but it's bad enough when you have everything arranged in a tidy row or circle and you get sent off the map for the 37,000 job you took only because it was going to the same place as the 250,000 job. Hopefully they'll make a polishing pass on the missions before October.

As for the delays, I don't much like it either, but I'd rather have it better than faster, for what that's worth. It's a very big galaxy and there's lots of places for bugs to hide.

When I get frustrated, I just go fetch another ship and do something different, or fire up fallout or buy another shooter or do some work (now that's novel :) ). Personally I consider this thing very much a work in progress, so I guess I'm a bit more magnanamous about it (In the case of the game as a whole I'd rather have it now with some flaws now than perfect never).

I like the idea of a "Screw you, your getting the bloody cargo where the contract says it goes" button. To go even deeper they could reply with "an offer you can't refuse" or a polite reminder that they have given you 23,000,000 worth of work in the past and "It would be a shame if that well were to dry up". ....Or something like that..... (Vivid imagination helps a lot with this game. :p )

Fly hard.

I like your attitude, tend to agree with the BETTER now than later <grin>.
Currently Flying a maxed out Anaconda and also have a Python for jobs on outposts.
I work from only one station in general so just swap ship when needed.

Love this last bit Yes suits me too.

I try to be helpful when I can.......:) I've fury quit this game more times than I can count, but there is something about it that keeps me coming back, so I guess it can't be all bad. I just try to stay away from the forums 'till I've calmed down a bit ..............:). I also try to not be snarky too much, as I surely understand just how frustrating it can be sometimes.

very true
Now what other grips have i got. Well at the moment not a lot, most of them seem to have been fixed. What I would like to see is when they offer a ground based mission i.e go find X on a planet, it would be nice to have a threat level. Did one the other day and walked into a real ball breaker. The SRV got liqufied [smile].

Also the freindly Fire, if my Conda opens up to defend herself with the multi-guns, then the coppers arrive to help but bullets hit them as they get in the way. You then have to exit Stage left very fast. Leave the sector and come back later to pay fine. Hey not my fault dum copper. Need a bit of grace to say sorry. [mad]

had about 10 mission today and 4 redirected. 40% is not good for medium ships. I got small now, but want python. Fix these problems please ED.

Have done about the same 10 or 15 since 0800 uk have been redirected twice. Redirection is fine when the rewards are high like 750000 cr but when you are doing multi hops for 100000 or less a hop then that is not good. Just stored the conda this morning gone back to maxed python so i can do outpost jobs.

I had enough re-directions to unsuitable pad sizes enough at the start of 2.1 that I purchased a number of cargo maxed T6's and parked them in strategic points around my OpArea.
FD then released a patch for a couple of things and since then, I have been redirected, yes, but never once since to a different sized pad. To the extent that I am now about to flog my fleet of T6's.....

To my mind when a pilot takes on a mission he or she is taking on a contract to complete that mission. But if the station or person giving that mission changes the destination part way through the mission they are breaking that contract. So the pilot should have the option to decline the new destination and continue on to the original destination. Or simply be able to abandon the mission without any penalty.
I probably get the destination changed in around 10% to 20% of missions, usually the higher value ones.
