Chatting On Foot

How do you chat on foot? I tried earlier but couldnt get it to work.

Call up the insight hub. Then think you navigate to the top icon. Click then chat away.

I tried that but it didnt work. the option was there but I couldnt make it work for me.

Did you assign a key binding in the onfoot controls ? Think there should be a separate one for comms

Thinking about it I think that the problem may be that i need to use my hotas to select the chat window. My mouse would not work when I clicked the section and I was panacking a bit as I needed to chat to someone on the ground.

Could be. I use my keyboard to bring up on foot chat. and not my hotas.

Arrow key up to comms,

left arrow

start message
end message - press enter to send.

Thanks for the mentioning the oddity. I have finished the sequence - just in case.
'Return' sends the message.
Doing this kind of thing is now automatic, but it took me a while to get the hang of it. I often pressed the '2' key, and as I was not in a ship/srv drew my sidearm. DOH!

Pretty sure you can define a quick-comms key (for on-foot chat) in Odyssey. I don't have the game open right now but I think it's C by default? It might even be Enter.

you know what else stinks is that even with pressing Enter to bring up the quick comms (like in the ship), you can't press Tab to cycle through channels.

Doesn't /w and /s still work for wing/system? And /help to list the options? Agree that tab should cycle though.
