CHEATING!! Is it possible?

When I was flying my A rated Federal Corvette I had a fight with [REDACTED], he was flying an anaconda.
My Ship was equipped with:
  • 7A shield generator with a level 5 engineer reinforced shields;
  • 4 shield boosters with level 3 heavy duty shield booster modification;
  • for hull protection I was using reactive surface composites;
  • All weapons with engineer upgrades;
  • All other modules A rated;

In just around 30 seconds we was able to bring:

  • my shields to 0%;
  • my hull to around 50%;
  • my weapons to 0%;
  • my two point defences to 0%;
  • my power plant to 0%;
  • most of other modules heavily damaged

His shields did not seam to be affected by my weapons.

In another encounter with the same Cmdr, we were both flying clippers, my clipper was also full A rated (all the best modules), he rammed me inside a station and was able to bring my hull to 4%, shields to 0%. I had 4 pips to systems.

Is this possible without using some kind of combat bot????

You may want to edit the name out due to forum name and shame policy.

I think the pilot in question has complained on the forums in the past of being "forced" to grind for engineer mods [which is why I remember them] so they would have had a ship as tough, if not tougher, than yours - more so with his weapons. They are also well into PvP so he probably had much better experience than you.

Sounds like heat for the first part, then the second part sounds like a heavily outfitted (literally) ram Clipper. Both are common tactics and outfits .-.

I'd be surprised if people haven't found a way to cheat in this. Disappointing, but while you're grinding to get better at the game, some are probably spending the same amount of time finding holes and exploits.

I've met this CMDR before outside Jameson Memorial, we were both collecting Datamined Wake Scans, there was nothing malicious about him, he did chat me up talking about Engineers, and that hes constantly experimenting with builds and stuff, so if you had alot of thermal weapons, and he had lets say prismatic shields with thermal resistance mod, 3-4 boosters with resistance augment, it is possible that your weapons just didnt do damage against his build.

And from the damage you describe taking in the first scenario to me it sounds like he attacked you with Thermal Cascade packhounds, in second scenario seems like he rammed you with ram-clipper

This is complete speculation tho, hacking / cheating was present half a year ago, but afterwards they did implement a strong anti cheat shield that seemed to get rid of all cheaters

Do you think that in around 30 seconds he could target and bring my shields to 0%, all my Weapons, all my shield boosters, all my point defences, my power plant and my cargo hatch????

mate no offence, but from what you described your corvette build is a bit trash, im possitive your oponent just out-cheesed you with engineer cheese

Well, I encountered a guy in Imperial Courier once and me on FDL, my weapons were not able to even take on of their rings down, then I came here and someone explained that ship has a very good shield, honestly I still don't understand how their shield was not going down at all, mine was and quickly, I had to escape, it's really weird when these things happen , probably there are cheaters in the game, there are cheaters in all online games, why should this be immune ? Only way to prevent this is for FD to make damage server-dependant, if you die on server even if you use cheats and your client says no, server just force you to disappear from the scene and if your client doesn't accept death you lose your ship cause you bypassed death screen, plain and simple, damage should be server-side not letting clients decide

My trash corvette hat all best modules and engineer upgrades.

  • 4 shield boosters with level 3 heavy duty shield booster modification;

^ even this is trash, you need 5 boosters on corvette, 3 resistance augmented, 2 heavy duty.

Point Defence is also useless, especialy vs Packhounds (the things that killed your module sthrough shields in scenario 1)

Do more research before upgrading, and you wont need to QQ on forums after being pwnd.

/thread pls

Sure, Thanks,
for you if I had stated I had 5 shield boosters, probably I should have 7.

The issue is not that I lost a fight, is the way it happened!!!

Yep I have to agree with the others, your external modules going down to 0% and the internal ones being heavily damaged is consistent with getting hit with heat modded weapons. It's the current meta, you'll need to adapt.

I understand your pain and NO, not a trash build at all I think, I think there are ways to cheat in the game simply cause it is peer 2 peer and server can't do so much if they are using client-side cheats, did you have 4 pips on sys in your first fight ? If so , then shield shouldn't go down that quick
