CHEATING!! Is it possible?

well, it could be cheating or not.
If this kind of fights are the result of the RND resource gathering and RND engineer results, then FD is doing a very poor job.
I like to fight, and I do not care to loose if that happens with cmdrs that fight better than me!!!

This is the wrong way FD.

Sounds like a fully engineered ship, actually.

And FDev has said that engineers will REALLY help in fighting Thargoids. Sooo... if Thargoids are going to be tough in an engineered ship, we should be VERY afraid.

That might just be your ship. I was ganked by 4 of the you-know-who group in Cail last night. 4 ships all with thermal shock weapons and stuff, but I managed to high wake out and they didn't even put a dent on my shield, only that I lost 10% hull and I was there for almost a minute getting bombarded because I wanted to make sure my mate in Anaconda could get away. The best thing to do when getting thermal warning is just to high wake out. And I repeat, high wake, not low wake. They'll bring in Corvette to mass lock your      if you try to get away to high wake is the best

Do you think that in around 30 seconds he could target and bring my shields to 0%, all my Weapons, all my shield boosters, all my point defences, my power plant and my cargo hatch????

The same thing happened to me against one of those, but not in 30 seconds, but in 5, and my shields and hull were still intact when all my modules failed, and the heat was alright, so it wasn't heat.

Shame it's caused so many issues to OPEN... PvP was already somewhat unbalanced and now Engineering has just opened a couple more can of worms...

There is a video somewhere on YT of a guy who clearly is cheating. Flying a Vulture with a lot of SCBs and he then logs but comes back and now his shields ain't budging.

When I was flying my A rated Federal Corvette I had a fight with [REDACTED], he was flying an anaconda.
My Ship was equipped with:
  • 7A shield generator with a level 5 engineer reinforced shields;
  • 4 shield boosters with level 3 heavy duty shield booster modification;
  • for hull protection I was using reactive surface composites;
  • All weapons with engineer upgrades;
  • All other modules A rated;

In just around 30 seconds we was able to bring:

  • my shields to 0%;
  • my hull to around 50%;
  • my weapons to 0%;
  • my two point defences to 0%;
  • my power plant to 0%;
  • most of other modules heavily damaged

His shields did not seam to be affected by my weapons.

In another encounter with the same Cmdr, we were both flying clippers, my clipper was also full A rated (all the best modules), he rammed me inside a station and was able to bring my hull to 4%, shields to 0%. I had 4 pips to systems.

Is this possible without using some kind of combat bot????
Sorry without video of it i dont believe a word you have said its well known people exagerate and sometime down right lie to make a point

This is why I never play in OPEN, too many commanders whose main aim in life is to kill other newbies and usually peacefull players, I believe the original post and it certainly is NOT Fun!

Cheating is possible, it's been possible for ages.

I was watching a stream and they were on about sharing scripts for Cheat Engine.

Thanks for the video. I don't PVP, so it was nice to see the heat mods in action. Wow...

Well tbh the guy in Corvette did 2 things wrong:

1st have a slightly better build

2nd dont panic when he came on thermal attack.

It is possible to whitstand this sort of attack with even just 3 heatsink launchers, you just need to time them well and dont panic.

One might say, the guy should have..... kept his cool.

Maybe they targeted your shield generator directly? There are a few engineered weapons that can bleed damage through the shield or cause direct damage to the generator. It might be a good way to tackle a corvette super tanker. Then you would be toast.

Client side hacks still work in the game, and readily so. This is not news, open is a bad place to go (and cheating is still a frequent problem as a direct result) because of it.

This is what happens when you trust the client with the combat and ship data.

A quick search seems to suggest that post 2.1 everything has been detectable even in solo play so not sure where you get your info.

Yes running peer to peer is iffy but ED is using a cheat detection system that seems to be fairly robust based on the whines on the forums that shall not be named.
