Check Out Evochron Mercenary While You Wait

The space game looks interesting but its £20  on steam.. I'll keep an eye out for it in a future sale.

I know this is a really really late time to reply on this forum, but I felt compelled to share some more info on this game to everyone.

First off, you can customize your spaceships in ways I have never seen before. You can for instance select a wing type, and then use XYZ coordinates to set it's position on the fuselage, it's size / length and mass. It's amazing, and for just that feature I really love this game.

It also for recently updated again, and the developer is still constantly working n it and support it to his fullest ability.

It's got quite a lot of mods as well that add a lot of nifty features / expand on features.

And finally, in the settings you can select for all the planets to be pre-rendered. So with the original download of the game being <200mb, after activating that feature the game takes over 2GB of space. Still not a lot, but it removes any stuttering for me.

Great game, and it's my substitute until I can afford Elite.

Thought id throw my experiences in here.

I have played this game alot for about 2 years and it was a great time! I think it is an extremely well made space sim with planetary landings!!!! That this was made by 1 person is mind blowing. When you dive a bit deeper in it there are some pretty cool mechanics like starbase construction, wingmen and many more. What is really cool is that the cockpit is fully customisable. At some point i dove into that and created my own cockpit even with pictures of my kids and wife taped to the panel. Ive seen star trek ones, complete open ones like in the lakon.

It is a great game that i reccomend to every space fanatic :)

Lets not forget the ability to actually "walk"on planets. If you can find a rich enough system and have enough credits you can buy a "Mech" which can be used if there is gravity present.

Yeah I found it when I was looking to thank the dev of Pioneer. Very cool site and it helped me find Evochron. I'm just wondering if you have a working copy of Elite Frontier on that Amgia in your picture :)

I still remember playing stunt racer on Amiga and having a blast. Psygnosis was a pretty big name back then. I also remember playing my first Liesure Suit Larry, Space Quest, Police Quest, and Heroes Quest.... Those games looked realistic to me back in those days. My how games have evolved.

Anyways have a good day :D

OMG Borderlands theme song just came on! Oh this is like firefly zooming over planets listening to this!

A CRT monitor has the best picture you can get, superior to any flat panel and if you have the desk realestate they are the way to go, the only benefit the flats give are they are small.
