I’m stuck between golden and Sichuan. I like them both. We can definitely go with a cream or yellow colored caprid.

Well, I don't care as long as we get a takin. But the Bhutan takin (always forget that there is this fourth subspecies tbh) wouldn't be a good choice because of the non existence in captivity.
The Mishmi takin would be the best choice in terms of commonness in zoos around the world but I find Golden and Sichuan a bit more beautiful because of the fur.
If I have to decide for one and keeping in mind that the Sichuan takin is being phased out in Europe, I'd probably choose the Golden Takin.

I want general takin with color variants for subspecies
I wouldn't like this.
Then it could happen that you have a group of the mishmi takin colour variants but the calves that are born are suddenly golden takins. Would be very unrealistic.
I'm pretty sure they can carry on genes from their parents. This is already for breeding stat's like size.
I'm fine with either Sichuan, Mishmi or Golden. But I guess if I had to pick one I would want Sichuan a little more since they're the only ones I've seen but I really don't care too much. I just want a takin.

takins have more differences to them than just coats
it will be malayan tapir reskin debate all over again
Golden for me.
