I know that in one update exquisite focus crystals were completely removed by accident. Has a similar thing happened to CIF? I scanned 20 bases yesterday, got 1 CIF and a ton of MEF. I remember I used to not have much trouble getting CIF.

I haven't done any Data Point scan runs in a while, but I have noticed that they seem to only very rarely pop up as mission rewards. I caught a couple within a few minutes a couple days ago, and then - nothing.
We got what everyone asked for - we no longer need commodities that you could easily buy once you got to G5, but now we don't get stuff we used to find as mission rewards. I'd go back to the old system in a heart beat if I could.

It doesn't work. No because the method is wrong, but because we were crashing mercilessly all the time. 4 different people, not winged up, could not hold the instance for longer than 5 minutes.
You always get what you are not looking for... when you're searching CIF you will get tons of MEF but no CIF.
So the best method to farm CIF is to go looking for MEF
