I did worse in my rookie days:

• Trying to land backwards
• Hitting "Boost" instead of "Reverse" while inching into the landing position (eject, eject, eject!)
• Missing the mail slot from outside and inside the station
• Boosting into the mail slot to get a face-full of T-9 (eject, eject, eject!)
• Not remembering the station had arms while exiting and flying around it (eject, eject, eject!)
• Flying into the station without requesting to land, panicking, hitting the station wall (eject, eject, eject!)

So you've obviously never been docking FAoff and had to suddenly dash to the bathroom! Poor guy just had too big a burrito for lunch.

I still smack the station once in a while, but nowadays it's just due to extreme carelessness/recklessness. The best one when I was new was coming in too low and wedging myself under the ramp. D'oh!

I prefer to imagine that he hasn't been paying his mechanic lately, so the mechanic tampered with the shielding on the power plant and turned the pilot's ship into a giant electromagnet.
