Class 3 plasma accelerator on Vulture

So i've been struggling to find a weapon set-up that I enjoy. I used to run pulse and cannon but the cannon seemed redundant a decent amount of the time. Then I switched to dual pulse but it felt a little too dull without the thump of the cannon, but it did kill well.

So i just found a plasma accelerator and to be honest i expected a lot more damage from it. Each direct hit seemed to be doing only small amounts of damage, even vs ships like a cobra.

Am i the only one underwhelmed by the plasma accelerator? Or am i simply expecting too much?

And i'm talking hull damage and subsystem damage here. . .

I've only used the class 4 on the FDL and that's hilarious. I've tried most other weapon combinations on the Vulture and dual pulse is the best, really

I have just been doing runs with this exact setup on my vulture tonight, and works pretty well actually. I have used it in PVP before, and it can be extremely effective if used correctly. Just make sure both shots are landing, ant not just one, as sometimes it can be easy to only land one shot instead of both.

Consider that plasmac is mainly thermal attack, so you're looking at hitting ships that run hot. If they run cool or have good quality modules, the effect is diminished somewhat.
That said, I have one slung under my FAS and its nice to pepper Anacondas and Pythons in CZs with fiery balls. If you get a solid hit against a smaller ship without shields, you notice a good drop in their hull.

I don't really see much damage difference if any between cannon and plasma accelerator. With the extra cost and power draw I might have to switch back to cannon

may I suggest you try a frag cannon first, especially if you run close to your targets.

Just tried the frag cannon and it seems unless you're virtually hull to hull, the damage sucks. Gonna give the PA another try then maybe just settle for dual pulse

Give this a try. Change internal's to fit needs and power and use frag once your on your target. One of the advantages of having a vulture is getting right on your targets hull...and staying there.

Gluing yourself to the enemy is the only way to vulture. Sometimes the glue needs a little help from a full speed ram into the enemy for it to set properly lol.

I don't think i'm a good enough pilot to stay glued to anything, or my pip distribution sucks.

Anyway i decided to go with 1 burst and 1 pulse. Its pretty effective.

Yeh I mainly use them PVP, and I fire real close... Just a suggestion each for there own dude.

And the advice is much appreciated. Maybe when i've thoroughly cut my teeth i can be more bold with my weapon choices, or when I can afford a bigger ship
