Clear Save

Currently it is still very easy to delete your character in the game. For this you just go to the main menu, select Options and select Clear Save. And ready you can now create a new commander.
I would like to propose some "complications" in order to delete your commander. Maybe a timer that stipulates an authorization period, preventing an instantaneous creation of a new character. Or sending a ticket to an authorization by e-mail confirmation.
Because?
My brother wanted to see how the game was, and I spend the weekend off, so I left my PC with it. And when I returned, there was a commander called "ax rock beard." So I had to redo my commander, but I could not for the same previous name, it was in use, and now I'm more a duck.

It would also help in the case of "Griefing" closed play group.
Besides giving us a little more appreciation and compassion for our commander.

It did strike me as bit of a simple process for a game that demands some level of grinding for top-level stuff.

Right, that's it. In the name of immersion, and of "science", I'm going home and I'm going to tinker with a key and ignition switch until my launcher application can only be started by my key. Which, as per my usual standards, will be left somewhere stupid anyway.

Now this is partly your fault. You gave your password to your brother or did not log off your computer (User name) when you left the computer. Now what you can do is contact Frontier and see if they can retrieve your old commander.

Best idea for you. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD and tell your brother buy his own Elite Dangerous game.

Yes.
I understand that the blame for everything was mine. But there was no other way to attract his attention without getting it in the driver's seat and command a ship to a catastrophic explosion any.
Or maybe I spent a good time performing "Griefing" against some closed groups, and now I'm sorry for what I did. Or maybe I had not done if it were more discouraging.
My dead commander felt avenged to kill the commander of my brother, and now I'm a young duck, washed soul.

You could not try the combat trainer or cqc?

I tried for a while, but the silent running mode does not work very well in CQC, not give us adequate time to compose himself. NPCs do not cheat easily. So the best way to become a "killer" is facing other players commanders.

Now if you're talking about my brother. I was not there, I was traveling.

Well...I for one am glad that at least I grew up with friends that let me have a go on their games rather than telling me to buy my own copy, but hey - where sharing & caring doesn't work, instead just tell people publicly that they're in the wrong for having a moment of consideration ;)

Obviously the OP needs to have a talk with his brother about respect and not being an idiot!

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't...not our place to say, and not really OP's fault :p

Seriously, people just gotta chill.

Like the Op. I have a brother and they like to do harmless pranks. That what brother do. You know Like delete your user account. Lucky for me it was on the original Elite Game and I save the game on a different directory.

vs

Going on the forums complaining about a clear save after a brother prank. When they could have reported to Frontier at the time and they could of help them.

Now friends. It depends on how much I trust them. Some I would just let play on Arena or tutorials. So they get a idea of game play. But I will not risk my Iron Man mode.
