Engineers Click here to find your nearest R/E/M Material Trader

INARA->Galaxy-> Systems and Stations-> Nearest, will find everything you need be them Mat Traders or whatever else. More practical than EDDB imho.

........ Inara is a workaround but not perfect.
........

I have never found INARA to be incorrect in this. The OP's EDDB links on the other hand are not reliable since EDDB doesn't "lock" the search result to the pertinent economy type in multi-economy stations.

Unfortunately people necroing inaccurate threads does not help.

Personally I use Inara, and don't sort by "nearest" but by distance from star. It makes absolutely no difference if the jump is 8ly or 40(*), but it makes a lot of difference (to me) whether I have to fly in system 16ls or 4000.

*) I always use my Phantom to gather or trade mats or visit engineers, refitting modules from my other ships as required.

"Nearest" is the prerequisite condition in the left INARA panel, then you check the category in the Upper bar,and you will be presented with a comprehensive list that you can sort in many ways: Trader type/Station/Star System/Economy/Government/Allegiance/Distance form star/ligh years Distance from where you are

If you limit to Medium ships yes,try to fit a Huge hardpoint or a 7/8 Shield or some other 8 Core stuff in your Phantom ;)

However @Kayvan said they don't "sort by" - so your initial remark in reply is not only inaccurate it is invalidated by your last words where you also say you can "sort by" various criterea.

Well, I was imprecise. I actually sort by trader type (like Raw), then check for a nice low Ls count (with my own eyes), and then make sure it's not too far away.

I don't care for Large ships, so that's never a problem. ^^

Having trouble finding the right Tradesman for the job?
The Galaxy Map search not working as expected?
Then fret no more because here are three EDDB links to find those closest to you. All you need to do it input your location as the reference system.

Hope this helps those frustrated modders out there in the black.

We have the years (2016-2020) and simulating a world of 3300, and still we need such humble heros to give us hints, which should be implemented in simulations.

Well I have a bad feeling for the ones in 3300; hope they get also such humble souls to post the hard thing the simple way in the future forums !!!

Thanks Commander Jigster !

Please define "so few information", what is missing to you there? Not trolling, just looking for a feedback. :)
Hi,

it is the way it is build.
So many clicky fields not needed, or could be automated.

Before I find an information it it, i can find it in google.

Don't misunderstand: A GREAT WORK behind it, but as I am a 1st-2nd Level Supporter (and can understand costumers when they say, "What do the programmer want me to do to get my work done, it should be the other way!" , I can tell you: made by pure Databaser/pgorammer for public, not going to work well!

It is not comfortable to catch me, so I LOSE time to find something there <- THIS should not be the SUM of great works, so it seems the great work lakes something to win me, maybe some others like me too.

Hope you get the point.

Ah, so it's not about a lack of information, but about getting it. I see. In fact, I made some improvements in that regard in the past few weeks and I am planning to do few more in the following days, but as Inara is quite loaded with the content, there always need to be some compromises made (but, well, there are at least customizable one-click shortcuts to get into the respective places fast). So maybe you will find it more useful to yourself later, after additional changes made. :)

Either way, thanks for the feedback!

Hello Arti,

the least I could do to give my opinion.

And sorry when I am so rude in my opinion, as you may understand, after so much time in support, you get cynical, sarcastic and fatalistic, specially when I am in line to get the customer and do not become what I expect....

No offense in all your great works as Databasers and Programmers.
Sadly the GUI-Desinger is still not a "must" in the IT.

And between us: who cares what the supporters says? ;)

Regards

No problem, when the feedback has a point like yours, it's always useful. Actually, I've learnt many many years ago that the feedback testers/supporters/etc. are providing is valuable and should be never underestimated. But, yeah, I had also the attitude like "what they do know about it" before, it's somehow more comfortable... :D
