Clipper and Cutter

Why are they both large sized hulls? Is there any reason to keep the Clipper once you get the Cutter? It would make sense if it were a medium hull for landing at outposts...but its not. I don't get it. Why make them both large hulls?

There are plenty of good reasons to keep the Clipper. It's very fast and agile vessel, cost effective gank proof cargo runner in open, a solid choice for a pirate, an awesome mining ship, good for pvp and ramming (hull tank frag clipper), some also use the the Clippa with great success as an exploration vessel. No point in selling that ship, you just only need to find a proper use.

FFE Imp Courier = ED Imp Courier
FFE Imp Trader = ED Imp Cutter
FFE Imp Explorer = ED none
FFE none = ED Imp Clipper
FFE none = ED Imp Eagle

They were always large or small. Gutamaya never built a medium.

Hmm I've always seen it as

FFE Imp Courier = ED Imp Clipper
FFE Imp Trader = none
FFE Imp Explorer = none
FFE Eagle Mk III = ED Imp Eagle
FFE None = ED Imp Cutter

The FFE Courier was a medium to large vessel, much larger than the Cobra Mk III and a serious opponent. The Trader was larger, but nowhere near the size of the Cutter, and had three main engines. The Eagle Mk III was an Imperial variant and available in Imperial shipyards

FD could not even get this nomenclature right:

In naval usage, a cutter is a transom-sterned utility boat, usually propelled by oars or motor and capable of being taken aboard a ship.

Clipper ships were all built with three masts and each mast carried square sails. The original clipper ships were fast and scaled the globe to bring products such as gold from California and tea from China to the shores of Great Britain.

So the Clipper should have been the Cutter, and the Cutter should have been the Clipper
