Clone Packs

Glad I found this thread bc I was thinking along the same lines. Once we get through the regional dlcs I would like to see more that contain more animals and few "stuff". Though more plants would be nice too. Canine pack (separate fox pack), Birds, Big Cat, Small Cat, Subspecies etc would all be great. That way people who are "tired" of certain groups of animals don't have to buy them if they don't want and can stop griping (hahaha yeah I know good luck with that).

Definitely, yes! I want them all. ^^
More animals, more! I like the reddish giraffes. The different lion types.

  1. How would you call these packs? - Taxonomy packs or Species packs.
  2. How many animals would be in these packs? - 4 habitat animals with possibility of buying animals separately.
  3. What would you be willing to pay for these packs? - 2,99£ per animal or 9,99£ for whole pack.
  4. What clone animals would you be excited for? I would group them in to the 35 separate genuses.

  1. Cats (Clouded leopard, Leopard, Puma, Ocelot);
  2. Dogs (Dhole, Manned wolf, Black-backed jackal, Ethiopian wolf);
  3. Bears (American black bear, Spectacled bear, Sloth bear, Malayan bear);

This would be quite ridiculous. That's actually more than they charge for current dlc, which include hundred of building pieces, and sometimes challenges or scenarios.
Current dlc price is $10.00 USD, and for less content you want to pay nearly $13 USD? If anything, animal only packs with only four animals would be more accurately priced at no more than $5-$6 USD.

I don’t think that 3£ per animal is that much. Good quality plastic figurine costs around 5£. For me 1 good DLC animal is worth much more than that. I would like to have a choice - if you don’t want to you don’t have to buy anything, right?

3£ per animal wouldn't be too much if there was not a less pricey DLC precedent.
The point is that the price you suggest for a 4 "clone" animals DLC is higher than the current DLCs which include not only 4 animals that are mostly not clones, but also 1 exhibit animal, +100 building pieces, rocks, foliage and scenarios. It's not really coherent, is it?

Relax it’s just the hypothetical idea. I think that DLC’s are way to cheap anyway and I would gladly pay 3£ per animal if it would be possible. It’s just my opinion. You don’t have to agree with that. Btw Compare it to DLC’s in Minecraft 😂

Chillax Bearcat and stop shouting. I understand and respect your opinion. Nobody wants to force you to anything. It’s all just hypothetical.

I was not shouting, that is what caps lock is for. It just frustrates me that you are on a for-profit company's official forum saying you would pay much more money for the same, or even less content. That's how executives get ideas on how to improve profit margins for shareholders.... and how we end up with it actually happening. Imagine paying for a four animal dlc for $15... if they thought they could get away with it, because they see people like you saying they would be ok with paying more for less, they would do it. They're a for-profit company.

I do wish we all had your privilege Nutrit, and could justify paying more money for dlc, especially for dlc that has less content, but that unfortunately is not the reality.

Honestly, almost none of these would fit in the "clone" category for me. For most of them the models need to be changed drastically. We don't have anything that comes even close to a siamang.

Clonse I'd like to have would be malayan tapir, grevy zebra, another form of giraffe, european grey wolf, asiatic lion, wallaby.

I'd love the sumatran orang utan, but would not consider it a clone. To be fair, I don't get what all the fuzz is about when other species of cats, canines and bears are added. For me, they all add to my zoos and I would be very happy with another bear (spectacled bear for example, or a coyote or an africal leopard AND an amur leopard. The only problems this animals have is, that they take way an animal spot. That woiuld not matter with 12 animals in a pack, it does with 4.

As for the clones (in my opinion) I bolded here, I would not want them in a pack. For me, this would be the perfect oppurtunity to start the "animal of the month" routine @markun suggested somewhere and charge maybe 1,50 € for it. Having a new animal each month and bigger packs with more unique animals every 6 month and added features would be a dream come true.

I won’t even comment on that 😁 but thanks for exhaustive answer.

Completely don’t agree but respect your statement.

Clone Animal Pack:

Masai Giraffe (Giraffa tippelskirchi)---------------------------------------------------------------Reticulated Giraffe
Grevy's Zebra (Equus grevyi)----------------------------------------------------------------------Grevy's Zebra
Blue Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus)------------------------------------------------------Black Wildebeest
South African Lion (Panthera leo melanochaita)----------------------------------------------West African Lion
Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae)-----------------------------------------------------Bengal Tiger
Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus giganteus)------------------------------------------------Red Kangaroo
Eastern Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii)--------------------------------------Western Chimpanzee
Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus adamanteus)-------------------------------Western Diamondback Rattlesnake

You know, if you focused, you could go with an "around the world" pack for this kind of thing with all of them being, basically, clones.

American Black Bear (Formosan Black Bear)
Wisent (American Bison)
Grey Kangaroo (Red Kangaroo)
Nile Crocodile (Saltwater Crocodile)
Ocelot (Jaguar)
Antarctic Fur Seal (California Sea Lion)
Demoiselle Crane (Red Crowned Crane)

Exhibit: Axolotl (Danube Crested Newt)

The Axolotl is there because the crested newt seems like it would be something that could be, easily, handle it. It also adds a species a lot of people want. It's the only animal on the list that would double a location...though it's one that would be popular anyway. The Maned Wolf and a few others seem like they might require more work to function as they should be without a repeat of the Tapir situation, so I left them out.

Pairing it with an update focusing on travel would work, bringing in Hotels and adding alternate vehicles to the rides would be a great way to expand on the around the world theme.

Perhaps titling it "Around the World in 8 Species" to play on the old book...

Ocelot (Jaguar)
These wouldn't be a clone just because they're both spotted South American cats. An ocelot would probably be coded similar to a small cat -- probably the lynx. There are no animals in-game which it would be a clone of, since it has significant and obvious physical differences from all existing cats.

Other than clone, they need to adjust the size accordingly.

Western Africa Lion - Barbary Lion
West Africa Lion - Asian Lion
Bengal Tiger - Sumatran Tiger
Spotted Hyena - Brown Hyena
Bactrian Camel - Dromedary Camel
Dall Sheep - Big horn sheep
Grey Seal - harbor Seal

I make a list with 12 animals. I am the opinion that a hypothetically clone pack should have more than 8 new animals. I do not consider some animals likethe Amur Leopard, the Dromedary Camel, the Hamadryas Baboon and the Maned Wolf because they will get a place in a normal DLC probably.

1. Drill
2. American Black Bear
3. Barbary Sheep
4. Barbary Macaque
5. Grevys Zebra
6. Massai Giraffe
7. African Leopard (if we get an Amur Leopard)
8. Black Rhino
9. Coyote
10. Grey crowned crane
11. Bobcat
12. Grey Kangaroo
