Cluster and layer of neutron stars

So I went out to see if I could get to a black hole just outside the galaxy (Cygni X-3) but it was too far out so then I turned back into the centre and as I was looking for somewhere interesting to explore.

I found a few black holes and neutron stars and then I found this.

Every bookmark in that zone is a neutron star or white dwarf.

I have explored that section pretty well but it was just too much for 1 person to do so I am posting this location for others to go explore.

These next pictures are my attempt at marking the borders of this cluster. This area is about 200 ly cubed with over 100 neutron/white dwarfs - I literally ran out of bookmarks.

Now some of you may be wondering why you would bother going out to explore this area since someone has already done it and others will probably be doing it.

Well the answer to that is if you look around at this level of the map, filter for these kinds of stars and rotate so the black hole Cygni X-3 is "south" but keep the galaxy flat, there is a layer of them stretching out at least 3k ly towards Cygni X-3, east towards the human bubble and west away from the human bubble that is about 500 ly thick. This whole are/layer is relatively packed full these kinds of stars and some interesting sites (I found a earthlike world around a neutron star - who wants to colonize it? :) )

These directions may be a bit confusing as I am not good with 3d directions :) but keep looking in that area. I just came back from a 4 month trip, 3k stars and 125m profit - not the best I have done but worth it for me. By the time I was through clearing those bookmarks I was getting burnt out and wanted to head home to some relaxing drinks and get that data off my ship before some nasty pirate thought I looked tasty.

I am sorry, I can't seem to find the names Cygni X-1 or Cygni-X1 on the GalMap. However, Cygnus X-1 is synonymous with HD 226868, which in turn is the Star of India on the GalMap. In the game it is an O9V star but according to astronomy sources it is also "home" to a strong x-ray source and was deemed to be a companion star. However, it is very far away from the Clookao sector if I am not mistaken.

As for the Neutron Field, thanks for the heads-up on that. These areas always seem to produce a new gold rush in exploration :D

-1100 down it looks like.
If you go that far up or down Yes that's what you're going to find pretty much throughout the whole galaxy. It does taper down the further out towards the edge.
Whenever I get in the mood for white dwarfs and neutrons up or down i go!
You'll find the occasional Black Hole and Carbon stars as well.
Fun Stuff [yesnod]

Thanx for the link Stupid_hippy I'll check it out.

As for the black hole I referenced I'm not able to get into game at the moment but will look it up and update my OP with it.

That cluster didn't seem to have anyone else claiming it and I didn't know that layer was all neutron stars so will go back exploring after the next patch is stable.
