Newcomer / Intro CMDR name is it permament?

Just downloaded the full version release and I am prompted for a commander name, is this a permanent choice?

I have successfully changed it during the last couple of weeks to test but haven't tried since release.

Assume it is permanent. If you are able to change it later; even better.

I asked about name change a couple of days ago on the forums and the advice I got was that now the only way to change your name was to clear your save. I have no idea whether this is true. Would like to know

Cheers for the quick response...I will have to take some time to think about a name then.

Hoping you have 2 strikes on this, then they will probably allow you to do it if you pay for the privileged a usual approach.

Any Dev's can answer this 100% would be useful, an FAQ section would be good for this sort of thing.

You get to set your commander name whenever you do a clear save. Your forum name is different.
