Seal clubbing in starter systems.
One has to wonder.
A couple of CMDR pirates jumped me in Leesti earlier, one after the other - first time I've seen them around since release. I was quite surprised.
Though probably not as surprised as they were.

Very well, Commanders.
This is all quite flattering, of course, but I feel obligated to tell anyone who cares to listen that should any Commander, regardless of what they are flying, choose to take it upon themselves to bring me to justice, then they shall be quite disappointed I'm afraid.
Commander Eddy Gurge, and any one else who intends to seek me out...You may find me daily around the beta access systems (Eranin, Aulin, etc) with the occasional visit to SoL. All Federation space is fair game but allow me to part with a small wisdom: As I've told the others who have tried before you....Bring valuable cargo to barter for your life and sue for pardon. The only survivors will be the ones smart enough to pay for their own lives.

Yeah, I agree. Shouldn't be called out. Now that you have been, I'll be watching for you. Oh, I have an ASP too![]()

Oh boy. Getting more famous by the minute.
@Bektop 3apemob; Fun times and good fights, but as I told you in game, my shield cells were not depleted. Nor were my bullets. I just stopped playing your "catch me if you can" gig![]()
@Ben Ryder; Logging out while you're about to die is cowardly and is an exploit of game mechanics. I reported you after you did it, so I would recommend you don't keep doing it, lest the reports stack higher and action be taken.
@Everyone else; Ladies and gents...You are not prepared.
Ben I do not approve but I can imagine his rage as he complained to teacher it made me smile

By that logic, then everyone who posts for the betterment of the game to the devs is in the same category. Your face must look so pretty after smiling for so long.
just teasing you-- it worked I saw you run in the video ( chicken noises )
And if someone doesn't have any cargo? I presume you do scan them to verify?
Of course. Contrary to whatever people may say in this thread, it's not about bullying or seal clubbing or whatever you want to call it. I make a point to never interdict Sidewinders, Eagles or Vipers as they can not carry enough cargo to make it worth my while. As I told CMDR Bektop in chat, I'm not interested in giving a good fight to anyone who is looking for a duel. I'm interested in making credits off your hard work.
I've let people in Type 6s go because they were carrying 104 Fish. Granted, I did call the pilot a horrible person for carrying such worthless cargo, but I didn't open fire. I've interdicted people with no cargo that I allowed to leave unharmed as they were worthless to me. I do occasionally require them to tell me a joke in exchange for free passage...and sometimes if someone is particularly rude I sacrifice them to The void. But never without cause, or warning, or a guaranteed chance of safety if they drop their cargo. Plus, I never ask for more than 25% of the total cargo.
Guidelines, you see?
I'll also address something else that I've seen in this thread: Piracy isn't about beating the crap out of other people. That task falls to the reavers and the grievers of the galaxy, my stance on which can be found here:

If you attack a real pirate, he will attack back. If he sees the fight is a stale-mate, as what happened with Bektop and I, or if he sees that losing is inevitable, then a pirate has no problem with running away with a smile on his face.
I actually said this in the chat with Bektop, although I'm not sure it made it in the video. If his advantage is speed and unlimited weapon ammo, then he should use those to his advantage (as he did) and nobody can claim that he's running away, chicken noises or else. But one shouldn't also discard my own advantages, such as being able to go into super cruise at will due to a heavier hull. Pirates are not bound by being forced to fight honorably. We do what makes us happy.
can you assist with rank thresholds?
