What's wrong with his station voice? I don't hear anything wrong with it, just a bit loud. I think OA's voice adds some diversity.

If we, from Asia, were heard as "comms chatter" you'd have absolutely no clue what we're sayingCuz we normally don't speak normal English to one another - we take shortcuts, dropping "the", "is", "are" etc. You'd hear English words but you won't understand what we're saying. Our accents make it even harder to understand us
Yes, I am able to write differently from how I speak. When speaking/writing to Westerners I/we use normal English. To ourselves, we start to use creole. Kinda like the Belter language in "The Expanse" TV series... eg if you heard "bossmang" you'd kinda understand the root derivative was from "boss man". But when heard with the Belter accent you'd have no idea what was said without subtitles.
all I ever here from Asian gamers is "ni hao, u buy gold? buy gold nao" but then again I play a lot of mmo's =O...
wonder what kind of sterotypes exist in Elite outside of cliche Feds vs Imps. Like do people from Eravate seem snotty while people from Diaguandri are billionaires? People from Founders World are all uptight snobs of privileged pilots? Would be interesting if Frontier could make even the little news snippets that appear at the news at stations that no one checks have a bit more flavor... pointless... but still flavor.
Three reasons;
1) He's not a professional voice actor, and one can hear it .. I couldn't care less who he is to the community - Frontier
2) It doesn't sound like a station announcement, it sounds just like one of his videos .. whilst that may have been the intent ( I don't know ), it would detract from my experience ( as would any non-professional voice acting ) if I had to listen to it over and over again.
3) I cannot stand his accent. It's nails on a chalk board to me. I can avoid it by not watching his video's, but in OO - I'd be forced to listen to it and at -as you said- louder than normal volume, as if Frontier are trying to bring your attention to it.
Though, to be fair, that could have been the video boosting the announcement and not the normal volume of it.
These are, of course, just my opinions.

I like the Obsidian Ant voices - though I agree: in the year 3303 everyone will have professional voice coaching - especially station announcers

I knew a girl from China. All the words were there in the sentence that should be (more or less), but in a completely random order. It was like talking to Yoda.

I agree with you. Lets keep it strictly professional and not let a load of nasal fan-boys ruin it.
Plus i cannot abide privileges given to 'uber players'. I mention no names...

I'd like to be able to pick from a large selection of voices; and certain actions will have your CMDR speak.
Request docking, and the voice you chose will go:
CMDR: "Titan City, this is the commander of Lakon Spaceways Romeo California Hotel, requesting docking permission, over."
Station: "This Titan City, permission granted. Proceed to landing pad 0-1, and slow your speed on approach to 1-0-0. Enjoy your stay."
Or CMDR > CMDR interaction.
Radial menu > Interaction > Aaargh!
CMDR1: "Aaargh! This is a piracy! Slow your ship, stow your weapons and drop all that tasty cargo!"

Now these kind of QoL changes I can get behind [up]
