V 3 of Elite: Dangerous, uses system visited data as part of the new trade mechanic, and for locating material traders. So I guess it just became more important for us CMDRs as a whole community, not now just as explorers...
So, for one of the first times, I used the 'visited stars' section of the gal. map in the bubble.
I was concerned to see my starter system was labeled in red as 'not visited'. I keep a Sidey there and have visited in the last year, when I became tripple Elite. I traded for my first year in this region and also almost the entire 75ly bubble round there is recorded as being not visited by me.
I keep 70 or so Sideys as old trade bookmarks across the entire bubble, and was also shocked to see most of these locations are labeled as not visited.
I may have the maths wrong, so I wonder of any kind CMDR may correct me if I'm wrong here.
I have visited c. 12000 systems in my stats tab. Most of these are travelling round the bubble initially trading then just getting around, as I've only ever travelled out 7000ly or so on one occasion, another few trips have taken me out to Heart and Soul Nebula., I'd estimate 80% of my visited systems should be within 250 ly of Sol.
That's about 9500 of, 65000 (is this right?) systems centrally, so approximately 15% of all systems.
When I look around the bubble and assess the amount of systems visited, it appears that some thousands of the systems I have visited are not recorded as so.
I submitted a bug report about it and FD have not had the time or inclination to respond.
Has a cap been imposed on the amount of visited system data which is stored in our journey in Elite?
Have any other experienced CMDRS noticed any such significant loss of CMDR system visited data? Are your starter systems labeled correctly, and how about further systems you know you have visited in the last year, or two years or more?
Many thanks in advance.
