CMM Composite??

Doesn't seem to have been. Checking a few of the refineries near me, the CMM is regenerating faster than the Steel and Titanium do.

So I've switched now to "pick up all the Steel and Titanium and fill the spare capacity with CMM".
So in less than a week the CMM production methods have gone all the way from "entire CMM bubble supply struggles to keep up with 1 T3 demand" to "any single CMM port can now feed the entire colonization effort".

I guess the map of our understanding is still being redrawn:

“If we can harness this efficiency into large-scale manufacturing, say, it’ll offer so many opportunities. Industrial installations could work harder and faster without compromising safety. Raw resources processed into finished products at higher rates could reduce consumer costs and increase accessibility.”

Don't look the gift horse in the mouth? Not really sure what that means, but...

It's the one thing that maybe feels like a failure point for soloing the Orbis. I need over 50,000t of CMM, about 25% of the total tonnage, and that just isn't going to happen unless I'm pretty much filling a Cutter on every trip.

Going to leave it until last, as it might be something that improves over the next few weeks.
For the record, it was an Orbis I'd selected, and I did cancel it and built and Outpost instead. It requires about 1/10th of the goods and took me two days gaming (region of 8 hours) of complete. I think it's possible for a dedicated Solo player, but I have other things on this month and didn't want to risk losing the system. The Coriolis takes about half the Orbis materials. (About a 1/3rd, I stand corrected. Haven't seen any site that has these numbers for neat comparison yet.)

I found the range of choice after the initial installation quite interesting, and on topic, lots of the subsequent builds didn't involve CMM.

i am loading my fleet carrier now ready for when i colonise my 1st system. my sensible head is telling me to play it safe and go for a small platform............. however my more reckless voice is telling me to go for a Coriolis.
it seems long term its much more sensible to build the coriolis..... if i could fit all the gear in my fleet carrier for it i would almost certainly risk it, however it will be at least 2 complete loads. what i really should have done if i was being sensible was put my spare account in my passenger seat for all the game play over the last year or so and passively gained enough money then it could have bought a fleet carrier and i would have had 2 which would be a very advantageous head start for colonisation

I don't see why, BUT I didn't really get the opportunity to explore it in depth before they tossed the anchor.

Keep in mind that the requirements for the first port are higher than what's reported, and if you want to build a Coriolis first, you will need around 70,000t of materials, so at least 3 FC loads, if you keep the FC services to a minimum (they eat up cargo space).

thanks. i think that makes my mind up then. 2 fleet carriers fully loaded and unloaded in a month solo was for my gaming time and sanity a stretch, but probably doable, but 3 is a bridge too far so i will play it safe.
the only thing which may change this will be if i can persuade some of my mates to come back to elite and i would pay them (in game) to help me out... but that is unlikely to happen

My suggestion is to build a small one first, taking you off the timer. Than you can build anything else in that system. The numbers are nuts even for a small one, and I'm running solo. Don't really have a good squadron to roll with.
No!
