Coastal Animal Pack

I have recently had an idea for a stellar dlc that honestly looks really good in my head, and it would honestly flesh out some new semi-aquatic and fully aquatic species as well as new enrichment items and that will exercise some of these animals' particular set of skills that help them either hunt or make use of their environment's resources. This pack could be a slight mix of animal pack and scenery pack.

8 New Aquatic Species:
  1. Pacific Walrus
  2. Southern Sea Otter
  3. Southern Rockhopper Penguin
  4. Brown Pelican
  5. Common Bottlenose Dolphin
  6. Green Sea Turtle
  7. West Indian Manatee
  8. Yellow-Lipped Sea Krait
New Features:
  • Underwater Sand Sifter (a bed of sand with an available shell for the dolphins to sift through the sand to find a fish meal)
  • Underwater Clam Forager (a bed of sea floor covered with clams and mussels, with an available rock on the side for sea otters, buried under gravelly sediment, this allows the walrus to use their thousands of whiskers to move through the sand and they then find the clam or mussel and use vacuum suction to slurp the fleshy animal out from its shell. The sea otters can bring the clam up from the item to the surface where they will use the rock to smash open the mollusc)
  • Shoal of Fish Dispenser (this can be fed upon by all predatory aquatic species such as pinnipeds, penguins, otters and cetaceans, these fish could take the form of pilchards, mullet or sardines)
  • Underwater Mud Patch (this will be a unique item for the dolphins to corral the shoal of fish over it and they can create mud rings and then eat the fish as the jump out from the surface of the water.
  • Seagrass Bed (a bed of seagrass that can be fed upon by the Manatee and Sea Turtle)
  • Kelp Forest (a bed of kelp that acts as the sea otter's primary need for hard shelter, tying themselves to floating strands of kelp.
  • Penguin Cliff (a large rock that the rockhoppers can climb and demonstrate their namesake ability)
  • Aquatic Habitat Gate (a wooden/concrete/metal/glass jetty that has an exit point for semi-aquatics and aquatics with one jetty above slightly above water-level going forward to a slope that at the end is where the semi-aquatics will slide into the water from. A water level jetty where the caretakers or vets will place a box halfway into the water that then releases the fully aquatic species (i.e. the dolphins, manatees and sea turtles)
  • Aquatic Rocks of different shapes with an ideal number of 8 types, all rounded like they have been eroded and weathered away, with some have holes to swim through and others than some animals can hang around on and swim around.
  • A new buildable biome, the Coastal Biome that can be set next to the sea.
  • A multitude of Coastal plants such as Norfolk Island Pines, California Palms, Tussock Grass, Seagrasses and others.
  • New jetty pieces
  • An aquatic barrier that is a large roped net that can't be tangled in by animals, with sinkers at the bottom and buoys at the top.
  • A wavy water feature
  • Artificial Ice Flows that pinnipeds and penguins can interact with.
  • Slides for pinnipeds and penguins
In the free update perhaps some new features that would make underwater viewing easier, like with viewing tunnels and tools that make just a viewing window for underwater viewing easier to make. Maybe the shoal of fish dispenser could be a free item and the aquatic habitat gate and aquatic rocks. The wavy water feature too. Giving crocodilians the ability to rest on the bottom of a body of water would also be fantastic.

This would be one of the best packs ever.

I definitely hope we get a coastal DLC down the line. I'd switch the dolphin and penguin for a Caribbean flamingo and puffin. I think dolphins would be too controversial and a pack with a pinniped, otter and penguin would be too similar to the Aquatic DLC. Puffins are popular animals that give more representation to the north and Caribbean flamingos are iconic species for the Caribbean region that are also distinct enough from greater flamingos, especially since they require different habitats.

Yeah but Puffins also fly, they would require an aviary, whereas the dolphins would work better with the current habitat mechanics, the flamingo would also take the spot from a far more unique species, the American Flamingo would work much better as a free animal rather than a dlc spot

I feel this might be a little bit of a controversial pick for a habitat animal as 2 of their relations are already exhibit ones, but hear me out: Marine Iguana

I think I'd also have roseate spoonbill in there personally?

Well Marine Iguanas aren't in captivity and have not been successfully housed, also Roseate Spoonbills are more of a wetlands animal

I’d be down for marine iguanas as I find them so fascinating. However i believe they are rarely found in captivity as I’d imagine providing their diet of algae may prove difficult to provide.
