If you ask me the Cobra IV thing is a bit silly. Founders have their reward, they got early access to the ship. If they're going to keep moving the goalpost on when you can get the ship they might as well just make it available to everyone at this point.

Besides -- it's really not all that good.

The thing is, I had ED before Horizons and gave that account to my friend. Then after Horizons went out I bought Commander Deluxe edition and couldn't be happier. But don't know if I'm eligible for Cobra IV with that purchase.

Update: no, I just checked it out, I bought the commander deluxe last November. So No Cobra IV for me. I know it's inferior but still... it's cobra.

The mark four has been a marketing mistake in the long run. It was offered; unfortunately as an exclusive, with re-release horizons purchase. I brought the LP and got it, because of the time I brought it. I thought, it would be a free ship in the game, because I took up the deal. But it became, an exclusive, which in theory, means they cannot offer it again. Not a good plan.

As to it being a useless ship. Nope, you can amour tank it to about 2,000HPs, you can carry over 20 passenger. It is like a mini Python.

I just wish it wasn't so ugly, it's just a trapezoid with thrusters. I like how it handels, it's utility, price and rebuy, fire power, boost sound, MC capability(my friends and I like to MC till we get disbanded due to connection issues)

I think my favorite small fighter is an engineered DBS with rail guns and/or straight missiles and/or plasmas. My multi role ship is the Phyton for sure. If I did a small multi-role ship again, I'd definately consider a Cobra MkIII, a DBS or maybe even a Viper MkIV.

'Ugly'. "UGLY!" The Cobra, a ship that can call itself a classic, an icon even and yet this philistine, dares to offend a whole community, with such harsh tones and language.

Why to go, how to get yourself into dozens of ignore lists, with a dozen words.

Ugly, my word. I am finding it hard to contain myself and will now have to go a dig a big hole in the yard, just to calm myself down.

Ugly indeed.

On a serious side, support refused to offer me Cobra IV. Sigh, at least I tried. :(

Hauler delivers good range on the cheap if you're not carrying anything. Doesn't hold up as well if you want to bring an SRV. Adder or Cobra better for cheap choices, followed by relatively inexpensive Type-6 and Dolphin, then the Diamondback Explorer.
