Cobra MK II??

I have a friend who claims to be flying around in a cobra MK II. After looking around in both the forums and the online wiki I have found no mention of this ship. The only mention of it is in older elite games, no mention of it being available in Elite:Dangerous. Having seen it myself I am wondering if it is some rare ship to find or if it has simply not been noted into any wiki yet. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I agree with you all about how it could not be as I thought the same thing. But he sent me a picture of it and thats what it says. I'll see if I can't get a better picture out of him. Maybe someone could check with the devs somehow about the existence/non-existance of this Cobra MK II?

It has to be one of three things:

1. Its the real deal and super rare find (or just nobody shops for cobra anymore)

2. Its a game glitch that made him lose an I in the name (as far as I know he has the same specs that my cobra MK III has)

3. He is pulling my leg and made the whole thing up (unlikely seeing as I know him and its unlike him. possible, but i doubt it, though from an outside view it is the most likely)

P.S. I haven't heard any of the lore about the Cobra MK II. I'm assuming its a bad model? XP Anyway. next time he is on I'll see if I can't get him to take some pics of it in the outfitter and with the in game screen capture. If anyone is in the LHS 3447 area keep a look out in the shipyards for it and post it if you do find it. I really want to know if its real or if I need to yell at my friend for making stuff up XD

We have met up but I didn't notice the ship at the time (please note I am still a new player). He won't be on for a while if not a few days. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen one before. Him faking it is really strange as he isn't aware of what sort of ships are or aren't in the game. In fact I thought nothing of it till I researched what I needed for my asp explorer. Then I just thought he misread the name of it wrong. Once he gets a chance to play again I will scan his ship and check myself. Also gonna make sure he doesn't sell it 1) proves its real 2) may be a rare collectors item now!

Well, Oolite is not made by Frontier, so it's non-canon.

In the Elite lore, the Cobra Mk-II was abandoned in the design stages, and much later, it was redesigned and was produced as the Mark III we have today.

As others have said, there is no cobra II. If you take a look through the game files installed to your hard disk, you'll see files for all the ships in game.

If your mate isn't that aware of ships in the game then I reckon they just misread it. There is no MK II.
