People refer to the Cobra MkIV as a mini Python, but mine is more like a mini Anaconda ... And now I have an alternative to my Anaconda when I'm not feeling like flying a big ship but have similar type of multirole capability, it's an everyday ship.
How is the MK4's actually
feel when you fly?
Just the hard numbers don't always convey the feeling. Like the Anaconda I hated flying, as the SC manoeuvrability feels so poor, so what ship does the MK4 fly most similarly too (especially in SC)?
i put a bunch of engineering effort into the Cobra MkIII, but for funsies I stuck the thrusters and frame shift drive on the Cobra MkIV. ... If settlements and outposts existed which had small as the only pad size, the Cobra MkIV would be an easier choice to make.
Swapping engineering between the 3 and 4 is something I hadn't considered before, but if the PS4 version has the Cobra MK4 available (I missed out on the PC version) i'm definitely considering engineering up the MK3, and then transferring everything to the MK4.
I definitely prefer small ships over large ones, even the AspX leaves me cold. So now I swap between a Python and a Cobra MK3, depending on if I need efficiency or fun.
A mini-Python is very appealing, as the MK3 just lacks those extra internals, and as a Fuel Rat you need basically a minimum of 5 slots just to get about: Fuel Transfer Limpet Controller; cargo (for limpets); shields (griefers attacks); Fuel Scoop; and ADS. Being a bit more versatile between jobs would be a serious bonus.
I'm thinking this for Ratting, medium-range rescues (< 2000 Ly from bubble), light bounty hunting, planetary exploration / ruins, board missions?
