Cobra MK IV vs Keelback for mining.

I'd have to go with the Keelback. Because I can't go with the CMKIV

It'll be a learn as I go process. All I have for mining now is MSS Chip, my mining Sidewinder. Two mining lasers and a refinery. We just drift around in the rocks chipping away to see what we can find. If I find anything worth keeping then cargo scoop it up.

I wonder if you can find hotspots with another ship, bookmark the location and then go back with your mining ship to extract or will those hotspots go away with instancing? Be an awesome use for a 2nd account having a scout ship finding and marking the spots and protecting your mining ship while your main account is doing the mining. Have to do it in open or a player's group.

Cobra MkIV owners have feelings too you know, not everything is about those unfortunate not to own one. Just once Those of us who do have one wouldn’t mind being able to talk about uses for it without panties getting in a twist while the toys are thrown out of the Pram.

I tried mining in the keelback and found it hampered by a small refinery, but if all you are mining for is void opals, it would probably be ok. The fighter bay is mostly useless and I ditched it. You can do combat in a keelback, it's not great, but it's ok. It's sort of like a larger Cobra III.
