Cobra Mk IV

So I'm tinkering with builds while at work because I can't be bothered to do my actual job at the moment, lol. I'm just spitballing here, it's been so long since I've done mining so I'm trying to remember everything off the top of my head. What do you guys think?

Looks good to me. When in a smaller ship, such as the Cobra MKIV, I have skipped the prospector limpet just to utilize cargo space & limpets. But, prospector limpets are fun to watch.

It's all very well, all this talk about the Mk IV. I don't care about the stats, capacity, etc. I just want to know what it looks like. Can anybody point me to images of it?

FD, since this ship is a prize to those who purchased Horizons. Please at least add it to Jameson Memorial. It makes no sense that it's not there for purchase and people are going on a wild goose chase.

Obviously the station I suggest is available only to Elite rated players, but at least it makes sense and narrows things down. I still haven't found one naturally, so I'm going to have to use the information provided by the community.

EDIT: Cobra has suddenly showed up at Jameson for me and wasn't listed last night!!!

Scrap this message. ;)

Although I will add that a Cobra MK4 deserves to be faster than a Python or a Cutter, surely. .

Of the people debating the value of having this "exclusive" content, I'd just like to say that it's essentially worthless tat. Cool, you payed top dollar for the DLC and got a pretty average ship that other people won't be able to get.

Personally, I'll be waiting for the DLC to go on sale later this year. I'd rather save my money than spend more for some trinket. Plus, they'll hopefully have patched the game up by then. I have plenty to do in the meantime.

I cannot believe that people still get suckered in by this kind of marketing. Sure, some people were going to buy Horizons regardless because of blind loyalty or fanboyism, but for anyone who was undecided, if this Cobra MkIV was the deciding factor that pushed you to purchase it, then you really should be asking yourself why.

I don't doubt Horizons is great content, I don't doubt that FD appreciate the support, but they do not need their fans to "defend them" from fair criticism or legitimate complaints. They're quite capable of handling their own affairs, I have no doubt.

You know, this marketing tactic is akin to someone buying a Happy Meal for the redundant plastic toy inside.

I really doubt anyone bought Horizons solely for the ship. It's just that, a bonus. The fact that it's an average ship, is good. Otherwise, people would be complaining that it was "pay to win". This means, if you miss out, you're not missing much. I don't see how people are "getting suckered in by marketing".

I was buying regardless with or without the Cobra Mk. IV, and I'm sure the majority are like me on that....still you do have a point in that buying Horizons only for the ship is dumb.

If this DLC was being sold for Top Dollar I'd agree with some of your statements.

It wasn't showing last night but maybe I was just daft. It's there today but to be fair this isn't much of a prize. It's very slow, handles quite poor and really deserves a better power distributor.

I've reinforced mine to test it too and although you can hull tank her, 304 boost speed is horrendously slow for a "Cobra"

Edit: And now it's gone from the list again. Back to 28 ships vs 29 when it shows up.

Can we only own one of these?

Weird. At least it's showing for you. I've been all over the damn place trying to land one. I can't get it to show up anywhere. :\

Nothing's weird when it comes to FD. Haha. Joking.

But they seriously need to buff this ship because right now it's only good for being a tank and nothing else!

The speed is disproportionately slow compared to the Cobra Mk3. I know the same was true with the Viper Mk4, but this is way more severe.

It's more of an "if this actually works on anyone, then I'll be amazed, and the people it worked on must be phenomenally stupid".

Which is totally correct, no?
