Cobra Mk V and more...

Please don't call it a C5 .... this is a C5 ...

iu

It's the Cobra mkV or Cobra mk5.
New SRV?

I'm curious.
This C5.
What niche is it filling?
Well i speculate.

FIREPOWER
yes it's a small medium. But considering the firepower of its smaller siblings it's gotta have bigger hardpoints?
I anticipate 3 size 2s and 1 size 4 and perhaps a size 3.
That's more than the legendary Lance!
Perhaps it's going to be a contender for pew pew meta. Far more dextrous than the python ll which as we all know has fab firepower.

So what hardpoints, it's yaw, it's flatline speed + boost, it's distro usage etc.. oh l do hope its up there.
I reckon it’ll be 3x C2 and 2x C3 - so a bit more than a Krait Phantom but not up to Krait Mk II / Python (Mk I or II) / FDL levels of firepower.

Which - for me - seems about right given I expect much better internals than the Python Mk II in order to act as true multi-role. Although I don’t think it should challenge the Python or Krait in terms of total internals: it is, after all, a “large small’ ship …

Another medium ship. I suppose perhaps more varied content is coming next year while we grind yearlong again through the exciting resolution of the Thargoid invasion....?

Don't get me wrong. I'll buy it. With Arx. And get it engineered. Then I'll park it in my carrier and keep hauling metals around in my cutter, paying my rent, and waiting for something interesting to happen.

Now, player-operated colonization... that could be interesting. Optional SCO drive harnesses for existing ships would promote some hours of gameplay to find new best balances. Finally blending FPS content with flight content enough to make leaving the cockpit meaningful would be nice after all these years...

Heck, how about just some light and heavy new ships to start with?
