Newcomer / Intro Cockpit View

Is there anyway to fix the forward view from the cockpit ? It seems to move when accelerating , pitching etc. Also I have noticed some sudden but minor view changes during the game. I have put this down to server lag. The worst problem I have encountered is an inexplicabel change to a side view, which I cannot correct. This has happenned on inderdiction and station approach. My only option was to power off my PC before I was killed.

Do you have an unused game controller plugged in, by any chance? Sounds like something is affecting your headlook.

It's "by design". Only way to turn it off is to use an Oculus Rift (which turns off all camera wobble, zoom effect and view leading).

Many people have asked for a toggle for monitors (some experiencing nausea) but FD don't want to provide that option.

there is some movement by design, cuttign off the lower end of the sensor when pulling up, etc. I kinda like it because it also zooms in thus making my next victim easyer to hit. If you don't want it go to your control settings and select a button for your headlook mode and set it to toggle, then simply don't use the controls mapped to turn your head in that mode. Your view will become fixed to your cockpit.

Other stuff you described doesn't quite fit to that. (looking sideways) My best guess here would be that ther are already controls mapped to something you're not aware of usuing at that moment.

Yes,I have had an XBox 360 controller plugged in as well as my CH Fighterstick/Throttle. I'll unplug it and see if it continues. As for immersive head movement, seems like rubbish to me , I lose sight of the speed bar , which I need for optimum turn speed. Cant see how that would be realistic in a hi tech cokpit view. Not sure I understand " headlook mode" at the moment headlook on a joystick button.

If the only complaint you have is losing some of the HUD elements while accelerating/decelerating during combat you could try adjusting the FOV setting until all HUD elements are always on screen? Not sure if that's completely possible but others have said it helps.

I got an Eagle as my second ship and even with FOV maxed it still likes to cut off the left-most portion of my navigation tools, which is really annoying when I'm trying to figure out which ship I want to scan and stuff.

A lot of these "many people" seem to be named jabokai though! :D:p

It can be annoying, I like it but do have to hit "Shift" quite often to 'zoom-out' to a fuller view (this only lasts while shift is held, but it helps).

Not true. I use an Oculus Rift 100% of the time for ED so it's a complete non issue for me personally. I'd like to see the other "many" get the same option of no enforced wobble though. Always fighting for the little people me, so altruistic. ;)
