Code action against CoR

In the absence of any demands from The Code, I've taken the liberty to make a first draft for them:

1) someone must ally with us - its lonely here on our own.
2) The Code demands that the Children of Raxxla only play in open and at times when we are not tucked up safely in bed.
3) Uhhm - still thinking

The Code has blockaded HR 6421 due to the hostile actions of Children of Raxxla. They have attacked allies of The Code in open and it is believed that they have been affecting Background sims while in private/solo play. This system will remain under lock down until the Code demands are met. Any CMDR who is found in this system and not an ally of The Code will be KOS

Good luck with that. Empty demands and fake blockades are powerless against the might of Private Groups and Solo play.

Perhaps if you puff your chest to look a little bigger...

Nope, still doesn't matter.

Fortunately I care about neither group, and am probably on the other side of the galaxy doing my own thing - which largely consists of making credits.

How many of you jumped repeatedly to try and trigger your Thargoid Cut scene? Such gameplay!Much WOW!

There we go :).

As for CODE, aren't they active in EVE too?
Normally I'd be irked by the idea of a massive player alliance perverting what is ostensibly a single player game - with support for a deliberately size-limited group of players (a-la multicrew or wings) - and trying to throw its weight around to the detriment of everyone else in arather juvenile and tasteless "look at us, we are CODE, ph33r us!" type way, but since here at least we have the option of mobius or solo, I'm glad that's the route I took.

As for CODE's influences in my game, I've never heard of them, I've never seen them, I have no intention of allowing that to change. Dumping a load of magic the gathering cards on a chess game in progress doesn't suddenly stop it being a game of chess.

I love you guys and your little tantrums when a player group tries to do something remotely interesting in Open.

here is the thing... you cant have it both ways.... IF open is to be anything goes with zero consequence to the pimped up ship, where as it is now some ships may as well be using an invincibility cheat when against other, more well rounded builds (which is what it is now and has been for the longest of times).... If that is the game you want, where players can just blow up ships for lolz, as demonstrated in numerous live streams such as the ones with Ed Lewis in.

well that is all fine and dandy its the game FD made and there is nothing wrong with you, or Code or SDC or who ever doing what ever the hell they want.

but...... the big BUT........... people need to stop with the whining threads about how "there are not enough players playing with me", or "we need more players in open etc etc etc. For every "waaaaaaah i was killed by a nasty person in open", there is a "players are cheating by hiding in a private group" or "open is empty, where is everyone?" or " we need more players in Open" or "why wont people talk to me they just high wake or low wake and log off every time i try to interact with them" kind of thread.

imo FD need to put a disclaimer on the 1st time a player clicks on open "by joining open you accept anything and everything which happens to you that is physically possible so long as the game code is not modified in anyway. By accepting this this you promise not to go to the forums and complain, as joining this is your consent for anything that may happen, if you dont like it, well all modes are equal you do not have to play here"

then from then on, all whining posts either pro or anti PvP are instantly locked by mods with repeated moaning threads leading to time out / posting ban :)

FD have stated if a system is to be "officially" blockaded then they will do it, accross all modes and policed by AI. Anything else which is purely player run is all fine and dandy but it is not canon and essentially is something for your own roleplay and does not interfere with those who are not interested.

So I guess I'll go hang out in HR 6421 this evening, see if they're actually going to stand behind their threats. Something tells me the system will be deserted.

Let me see if I understand: if a person or group kills another cmdr without reason it's griefing, but when a group gives a reason in the "role play" sense it's worthy of ridicule? Eh? I'm not sure I'm up to speed

The reason given makes no sense. "We think commanders are manipulating the BGS in Solo/PG, so we're going to kill any commander in Open that we don't like".

How exactly do you role play a Background Sim?
Surely its just background.

So what? You're getting a very public warning/invitation. If they didn't post a reason you'd all be on here whining about some sidewinders being blown up in whatever system OP mentioned.

Who/what is the Code? Or the Children of Raxxla for that matter? Ah...Open. Meh...

+1 to this.

That would be a very fair point, but how many folks that are so new to ED that they're still in sidewinders have even heard of the forums?

Though, assuming a loaded sidey jump range of 5Ly, HR 6421 is 20+ jumps from the starting systems so hopefully the newbros will be reasonably safe.
Maybe some of the anti seal-clubbing lot will volunteer to provide cover for 'em, who knows.

It's not that.. it's more the conveyed attitude and tone that invites ridicule.

We have quite a few "North Koreas" around here. Look how the world trembles at the empty posturing of North Korea. It's not that different here.

Now imagine if we could change the world's "mode", and have a world without North Korea and you may have a good idea why these sort of declaration posts are not given much fanfare.

I spent my entire download and install reading these very forums, which is why I spent my first few hundred hours in Solo, before moving to Private Group play, and still largely don't venture into Open very often.
I have a terrible drama allergy.
