Why would glorifying an in game group result in moderator action? Code do campaign to improve EVE, all the time. CODE also come to other games to spread their enthusiasm and love for PVP. It's obvious why the current version of combat logging is bad for the game, not sure why you doubt that, and there's no shame in a tactical retreat :).

As to CODE not being wanted, in that regard you are sorely mistaken. Many people love code, but to others CODE are like the parents who force their children to eat vegetables. Most people eventually realise how good groups like CODE are for the sandbox.

Heh, I think I don't have to do much defending for you here, you handle yourself quite well.

You have my respect for taking up a controversial perspective and arguing it with reason and logic instead of unnecessary emotions.

The CODE alliance in EVE aren't taken serious by anybody but themselves and some hisec carebears. They are the laughing stock of every other alliance/coalition in EVE. Oddly enough it's much the same way CODE are the laughing stock of Elite.

Indeed, similar to people that desperately express their hatred toward us without much rationality, quite the laughing stock indeed.

This is not true. CODE are deeply respected by Goonswarm Federation and The Imperium (formerly CFC, and by far the largest and most powerful coalition in the game) and frequently work alongside them.
These days they also get a lot of love in mainstream channels like the official forums and Reddit.
CODE has been a massive success story and I am glad that they have made it to Elite Dangerous. You can be sure that with their spirit and dedication they will make the game a lot less stale.

Greetings.
Quick history lesson: As EVE Online evolved over the years there was an alarming trend— there seemed to be more and more botters in high security space and this was starting to destroy EVE's economy. One man realised how dangerous this was for the game, and he decided that he'd had enough. His name was James 315 and he started the CODE movement.

Fast forward to the present day, EVE is still a thriving sandbox packed with player interaction. In EVE no man or woman can escape being affected by other players.

Now Elite Dangerous has solo mode so this is not the case. So why am I telling you this? It's simple, CODE stand for player interaction. When the hours wear on and you tire of the company of simple, predictable NPCS, CODE will be there. When you've figured out Elite Dangerous and you long for more of a challenge, CODE will be there.

CODE embody the spirit of the pioneer— when the masses say that the long distance transport of freight is impossible, the likes of CODE invent railroads.
When popular opinion is that an all open PVP game environment would be a constant bloodbath, the likes of CODE implement their own government and their empire thrives.

For most of you, there will come a time that you realise PvE is hideously boring. You'll have ground for weeks on end, and finally reach the ship of your dreams.... and then suddenly it will hit you.
You'll put your head in your hands and say: "What have I done?"
At that moment CODE and their ilk will be there with open arms, and that's why I consider them among the saviours of EVE Online and Elite Dangerous.

I have no idea who this is, but he isn't in The Code. Also, we have nothing to do with the people in EVE (your first clue).

Yes, yes, you just KNOW, despite everything we say. Again, pleasse come to our Website Store for all your tinfoil hat needs. My name is John Paul (I go by JP), not James (another clue). I'll link you to my facebook page, if you like.

Actually, I applaud this rather clever, if naive, attempt at false flag black propaganda. One for the notebook, certainly.

Anopheles
Leader and founder of The Code (not CODE, your second clue).

It doesn't matter whether you have any connection to James 315 or if you have anything to do with EVE— in essence you are similar to CODE. Whenever people compare you to them you should feel flattered.
You may hold slightly different views to your EVE counterparts, but you can take it from a long time EVE player that you embody the same righteous spirit.
Thus, all of my points are still relevant.

Well done to the OP for voicing his opinion, and well done to those who claim self publicising and flamebating for feeding it :)

Hello all

Please stay on topic (whatever that actually was, I don't see much to be discussed if I am honest).

No image spam, I'll get to infracting those in a tick.

No insults. Yeah, I'll get to those in a tick too.

So, stay on topic and be polite.

WHAT IS THE TOPIC ?????

Maybe it's been asked before but why did CODE choose the same name as the EVE group if they have nothing to do with them?

We weren't aware of them when the organization was first founded. We came to know about CODE after people on the forum began drawing the two together and questioning our relationship.
