Newcomer / Intro CODEX - binding a key..?

Help!
Sometimes when using the FSS to scan a system, I get a message that says 'key not bound in Codex' (or something like that)
How do I bind a key to the Codex for this purpose..?
(there doesn't seem to be an option in the key-bindings section to do this)

Thanks
JJ

Maybe it's about the playlists?
There is a "media player" in the codex which you can bind (Play, pause, next track, etc.) and use to queue articles in.

(It is right next to the "Switch HUD Mode" setting.)

Doesn't work for me. I've tried mouse 3 and key R, neither triggers the codex page for me. I always have to go over the right hand panel.

And suddenly it works, with the R key. Strange...

.... annoying isn't it? Whether it is going to work this time or not - just another of the delightful "features" of this update.

Meanwhile I find the usage of such a button a doubtable value, as long as it can't bring you back to the FSS page from where you opened the codex page, preferably with the same positions.

At the moment I find that Codex just a waste of memory addresses - maybe I will come to love it, meanwhile it just annoys me. (In grumpy old man voice, bah humbug ;) )

Thanks all - 'Open Discovery' was indeed the binding I was looking for; I've bound a key, haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet
(I must say 'Open Discovery' is a bit cryptic, though in fairness it does mention the Codex in the help text that appears top right when you hover over 'Open Discovery')

keybinds are a pain. I mean I have media keys on my keyboard, but they can't be bound to the in game media keys... but I could bind foot pedals to media if I wanted?
OK sure those keys on the G510s aren't meant for games, but they must be producing some code somewhere...

There is no Open Discovery for me under misc or mode swiches

Should be there (down at the bottom)...

Just adding this in case anyone else gets confused by this. The [Open Discovery] key binding only opens the Codex when you have just made a new discovery and it is shown in your top right hand text panel. It will not open the Codex at other times.
