Here's another new list, this time for those who might be looking to do a Codex completionist run. Maybe after getting those new shiny and speedy Mandalays soon, hm? (Assuming no more mandelays.)I made this because I was toying with the idea, but the Canonn Challenge is missing several entries and is no longer updated, and I also wanted to include the ninety Odyssey species.
I didn't include things like the Lagrange clouds, static filler content (Mineral Spheres, Calcite Plates etc), as you'll find them at these locations anyway, nor Thargoid / Guardian entries, because completing those would be trivial.
So, the list is at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ln1jUj-RooO1xqHEMC8kyIe7_ZfE8MKNAbTvUDpg13U/
If you've completed the Canonn Challenge before, then you're only missing 9 NSP entries for full Codex completion: I marked which ones these are, see the Notes row. Four of them are just pod / mollusc variants that can be found right next to the others, and five are Anomalies, but some of those are off the beaten path. Fortunately, they aren't that far off, a few thousand ly-s of detours at most.
The spreadsheet comes in three parts: the first two list all of the Notable Stellar Phenomena and the Horizons bios, with example systems included. I included the coordinates of said systems as well, for a bit more ease with making your own route. (And hey, saving some server queries!) After all, many players have probably already visited at least some of these. For the sake of completeness (heh), I also provided an example route which starts in the bubble and ends out in space (so, not back in inhabited systems), in order to shorten the total distance a bit. A complete journey is still somewhat longer than doing a circumnavigation of the galaxy's edge, after all.
The other part lists the regions of Odyssey bios. I didn't list all the variants there, because they are just colour swaps, which I don't care enough about, and there'd be too many waypoints listed if I did put them in. Also, since these bios cover entire regions, there's no need for example systems either: you can just grab the entries along the way as you go through the other waypoints.
Out of the 90 thin atmo bio species, 76 can be found in the Inner Orion Spur region (bubble), 11 in the Galactic Centre (Sagittarius A*), 2 in the Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm (Colonia), and just one (Tussock Divisa) that isn't inside any of these three regions. I listed which species can be found in which of these three. So, for the Odyssey stuff, a tour of the Sol-Sagittarius A*-Colonia triangle will be enough: the Tussock Divisa can be found one region away from any of these three points.
Finally, one important exception: getting to the K03-Type Anomalies in Kyli Flyuae AA-A h4 requires a fleet carrier, and they can't be found elsewhere. So, you'll require the services of a fleet carrier to do full completion. (They used to require using a double neutron star boost, but that bug has been fixed since. Carriers are the only option now.) Personally, I'd recommend doing this part separately, because that would be faster.
That should be all then. If somebody discovers any new species, I'll update the list with them. Good luck out there!
