Collecting Interceptor Heart

I tried to find info on this, but all I find is about exertion and destroying. This time I actually want to collect a heart,
I have been shooting at killing several cyclopses now with a gauss cannon setup, but no heart to collect.

Am I missing something?

Never mind. Finally got one.


To elaborate some more, I figured out that not all interceptors will give a heart to collect. It appears to be more random than I thought.

Correct me if I'm wrong

I was alone in the instance ... Well, me and the thargoids and NPC. I had killed a few cyclops already before one finally left the canister with the heart. It is random.

Had it in the cargo bay and was trying to overheat ship to get rid of teh green slime. The cargo hatch malfuntioned and I lost it again, bet o.. well .. better luck next time.
