Nope, no need to switch to Open for anything, the system chat is shared between Open and Solo (and all instances, not sure about private groups but I think so too), same for carriers

Oh and just to be clear, when I said "open carriers" I meant carriers whose access is open to anyone (I don't remember the in-game term, "public" ?), maybe it wasn't the best way to put it ;)
The setting is Docking access; All.
I would advise against Open in the CG system.

Should have slashed the Goal requirements and inflated the rewards- this game is boring unless you just poke around yourself. Gamers don't run this game anymore- bean counters that try to increase time on task not player happiness.
Rather a 3 day fun event with colourful NPC's and cosmetics and teamwork than more grind to save
LIKE ONE JUMP IN 100 on a long trip- no need for the stupid jump jump jump process anyways- got a fleet carrier bleeding credits with nothing to do.
Yeah, been around for 7-8 years, patience worn down, or is that Ground down.
Grind Fest.

I have been filling my Python at Adenets, Bushkov Dock M 1,814 ls. About 13000 Comp Components.

Steve 07.
Rgr, thanks for the tip! o7
If only the game would let me lend you my Anaconda with 368t cargo capacity and fully laden jump range of 27ly.
I've got the luxury of a Cutter - 704t and plenty of shields to survive ganking these days.
On the plus side you can get to medium pads - try https://eddb.io/station/8783 as it has 20K TCUs in stock and is not far from Alcor and the Supercruise is short. No large landing pad so its getting ignored by others.
If only I could! My goal is to save up and outfit an Exploraconda based on CMDR Scrubnpubs old design and get waaaaay out in the deep stuff.

I think I overlooked Naddoddur City as I was searching and wrote it off because it was 40LY away. Thanks for bringing my attention back to it! So far I've been using 78 Ursae Majoris because it's a single jump and there are two stations that usually have >100t. It's the oddest thing, buying 100t of the station's supposed 138t, then coming back and seeing it at 210 or 75 or 187, etc. I don't complain though, because it's a steady stream! Even if it ends up <100t, I just pick up some computer components to fill the gap.
Well...

That said, you're probably doing that in Local chat, and most people look at the System one. Plus most systems don't have many players around anyway, if there's even another one.
I sure hope so! I should probably just stop talking back to the NPCs... :ROFLMAO:
the profits made trading in this CG means you can upgrade that T6 to a trade specced T7 really quickly. this will have a huge boost to your earnings. once on a T7 75% is easily achievable and then the money you will make at the end combined with your trade earnings will make a T9 likely achievable in the next hauling CG. obviously it's your game, play as you will but just think carefully before smashing your way to the big ships. I know for me most of the fun in this game has been saving money for upgrades and working my way to bigger ships. I have been playing since the very beginning (well premium beta) and even now don't have a cutter or a corvette. for me, the most fun in the game was at the start earning my cobra, asp and such like.

of course you do you etc but just be careful not to skip what is imo the best part of the game.
I didn't really consider this because I assumed blowing all my cash on a T7 was an unwise move. I've since reconsidered. Here is what I'm thinking. This doesn't eat all my money and leaves <10mil for rebuy. Major props for helping me understand that I can recoup faster than I thought. o7

My ultimate goal in the game is an engineered-out Exploraconda where I can take dang near everything out into the black and be completely self-sustainable, so I'm going to need a lot of money.
I've my Carrier ready to be loaded at Michelson Port | EHECATL
I am buying TCU @ 13,820 Cr/T
Will move probably in about 12 hour and sell for about 25,000 Cr/T near Alcor

the Carrier name is Xklibur (TFT-8XZ)
o7 CMDR, I'll keep an eye out for you!
@Kakamage If I can find a slot in Alcor tonight, I have about 3.5k TCUs which I will sell at basically zero or as low as the pricing allows. About 1k Computer Components as well which aren't as profitable. Unless you're on PS4, no way to lock it down to just you but I'll shout up in here anyway.

Think I'll continue to haul in the Cutter which will overall be better for the CG.
Oh I'm not so much worried about the profit as I am about hitting the 75% threshold. Really appreciate the offer! I am on PC so if you want me to PM you here on the forums, I can do so.

I'm offline for the next 14 hours, so I recon tier 5 will have been reached when I get back. I've delivered 25,344t (top 10%) to Alcor, which is partly down to being between jobs following the Christmas break so having the time and the 'glorious' Cutter to do it. Nose back on the grindstone next week, though.
Next month I might take a trip to see my Krait II and Orca in Colonia and call in at the 5 new stations on the way.

If only I could! My goal is to save up and outfit an Exploraconda based on CMDR Scrubnpubs old design and get waaaaay out in the deep stuff.
I did a 17,000ly round trip in my Anaconda outfitted for light weight and exploring (extra fuel tank, 7A fuel scoop), and half way round I was wishing I was back in my Krait Phantom. There are some activities in this game for which only the Anaconda will do (passenger missions from Darwin station in California Nebula (which involves light combat!), rescuing people from burning stations attacked by Thargoids in the other nearby nebulas, as examples), but for me the Anaconda's turn and pitch rate in supercruise is too slow to be enjoyable and it needs the best and heavy thrusters to safely leave high G planets which destroys the jump range. When you are DSS scanning planets in a system you fly around most of the time in supercruise.
In contrast, I've worked out I've covered around 200,000ly in the Krait Phantom engineered to the max and look forward to more trips deep into the black with it in the future.
This is my version of Elite Dangerous' ultimate exploration ship, others will have their own tastes https://s.orbis.zone/hucp
It has the shields and hull to survive crash landings on high G planets if I make the mistake of thinking it's a low G moon (again) - exploration is dangerous because you will slip up from time to time in some way.

Saying all this there are many commanders who love exploring in their 'conda. Try both before you take a long trip.

8000T Computer Comp on sell at FC HMS Beagle in Alcor A 3 at 3207Cr/T - o7 Cmdrs
I am at 25% so you lot can do it (but still have to make a small profit!)

1st edit - 1st time doing this so let me know if it doesn't work, I'll be back in couple of hours.

2nd edit - Phew, nearly left FC with Docking access NONE!.

For the new players or low-ranked Traders out there, this can be a great way to work towards Trade Elite. My buddy started in earnest just before New Years Eve and got the the last half of the winking cat rewards. With that, he was able to build a Type 7 for hauling and earned enough money on the Thermal Cooling Units to get a T9 outfitted (no engineering, unfortunately). Since then, he has made it into the top 25% and his Trade Rank shot all the way up from Mostly Penniless to Tycoon. I'm almost to Trader Elite I from Trader Elite. Don't give up. Keep at it!!!!!
