Colonia Engineers

Just going about unlocking the engineers, started with The Nameless bounty vouchers, which seems easy enough (although my exploration Krait is still an exploration Krait with 4 modified frag cannons on it!).

But how does one go about finding 25 escape pods?
And I do hope Progenitor Cells are available in Colonia. 🙄

Megaship bothering it is!

Another day. Lol

I killed precisely 1 Nameless ship for a 104,000cr bounty, and tools mere 3 volleys from my frag cannons. Lol

I need to mine some osmium next. Anyone know of a hotspot around here? Is it rock, or ice? I've literally never mined it. 🤣

I think I had a similar experience.

Ironically enough, I'd collected the escape-pods for Benny Hill and I was planning on visiting a Nav Beacon or RES to rack up some bounties when I was attacked by a pirate Annie.
Boom!
Cr129,000 bounty.
Well, okay. I guess that's taken care of.

Used to be able to grab escape pods from 'Pirate Activity Detected' USS.
Dunno if that's still a thing, haven't been in one for a long time.

I spent some time scouting around in an SRV.

This eventually netted me the required escape pods.. Also quite a lot in bounty vouchers (from skimmers) and more than 100 tons of other cargo. Quite a lot of gold and platinum, not exactly a great credits per hour but certainly a nice bonus.

Well, that's all the Colonia Engineers unlocked, and ranked up to G5, and pinned appropriately.

Nothing else here, so heading home!

I arrived in Colonia yesterday on my alt account, on which I've only unlocked a handful of engineers in the bubble, with a view to permanently move to Colonia and make use of the local engineers instead.

Turns out I made a vital mistake which I only realised upon arrival - I did get invites from bubble engineers but didn't actually rank them up in order to trigger invites from 2 out of 4 of the Colonia ones. So I either travel back again or just make do with Brandon and Olmanova - meaning I won't have access to non-laser weapon, PP & PD engineering amongst other things I don't value too much.

MASSIVE D'OH

I'll see how I get on with just making do - applying a PvE playstyle and I don't feel the need to min-max my ships so it might be ok. But oh man that sinking feeling yesterday when I realised my mistake.

And yes I know it's about 4 hours via Neutron jumping, but I'm in no mood to do this again anytime soon (took the scenic route in my Viper4 initially, until the Eagle nebula when I got bored with making hundreds of jumps so went Neutron instead).

Taking the trip to unlock Colonia engineers can be a nice opportunity for some exploration.
I encountered only a small setback in my endeavour described in the post below, i was missing a full rank to unlock Petra Olmanova so i had to spend half a day in Haz Res to reach expert.
Still made some really nice discoveries including an ELW and about 200 first discoveries for Neutron Stars
