Colonization : Why, benefit and ROI

Colonisation isn't worth it for the credits.

Colonisation does let you create the mission hubs you want and the services you need. You want an interstellar factor build a criminal outpost. You like certain settlements for material farming build them. It's a source of lots of BGS activity babysitting factions.

my idea was to build hoping I could get a passive income to negate carrier upkeep.
For now it looks like its gonna be imposible to get to 15 mil passive revenue as a solo player. Well I guess if you haul 10 hours every day 355 days a year its "doable" as some claim.

Yeah that's not happening with this system. For the time and amount of trips it takes to build a single Space Station, you could make billions and billions doing regular trading and not have to worry about FC upkeep for years.

I first played this game for 2 days in 2015 and only came back a few weeks ago because of colonization. Expecting to have to pay for all the materials, I was happy to find I get paid to build facilities. I got a Type-9 quickly by mining and started a new outpost in a decent star system.

Money is irrelevant in this game. It's a sandbox; not an MMO. They gave us more tools to play with. Other than the size of the galaxy and colonization, this game is not good. It has tons of untapped potential, but right now it's a sandbox. I'm building my sand castle and then leaving for another 10 years until some other interesting feature comes out.
