Definitely do something with combat zones. Give a multiplier for continuous kills without leaving the CZ, but also make continuous kills increase the value on your head, so more ships attack you, ultimately making it impossible to stay forever.

And while they're at it, they should actually be fighting over something, like a station or a mega ship, not just empty space. Maybe even something on the ground...

Oh, and need mining (and this from a new-ish CMDR with less than £100m assets).

Combat at mega ships is a different action zone and is allready in game...
The capital ships will show up if the CZ is for the correct power factions when fighting in high to replace the mega ship option from the other combat zones...
The conflict zone wing rewards for kill of 10 -12 ships from mission boards make CZ pay higher than the mega ships combat zones...
but adding these ships just creates more maoning players as SLF fighers suck so badly that they just hit your own sides way to offen and you end up being fireed on by every side... They need to fix the AI of friendly SLF first..
 
Mining is way too profitable atm, it's crazy that a newbie can earn enough to buy a fully kitted Cutter in 2-3 days.

The endgame is no longer owning one of the big three (now four) ships. FD haven't created this situation by accident or incompetence of any kind. The endgame for the last few years has been engineering, the new one is fleet carriers.
