Don't think I heard that. Can you link to the point in the stream, or place the word in the actual context/sentence that you heard? Even paraphrase it?
When plants on planets appear that we can go play with, would this triangle you speak of, look different from space? One could almost drum up a mental image of it looking like the surface had become a little hairy. Just pondering.

My only concern is they've only showed off one map to date. Maybe that one map isn't compatible with the fleet missions?
Apart from that though, it was decent for what it was. Now that we know its likely going to be just another mission board, measuring to that its looks... better than srv's at least.

There was some stuff in there- but... honestly, not very much about the combat triangle really, a lot about the on foot part, and mention of base defences.
I guess I'll need to wait for the alpha.
This is 100% what I am worried about.
What's to worry about? They said its going to be possible, so unless FD are pulling a CIG then it will be possible.
Whether it will happen is a different matter. Galaxy is big, so unless you are friends with a few likeminded people its not likely to happen organically.
Also, unless FD are improving the networking, i can guess if you get more than a few ships, SRVs, and players on foot, there will be issues.
They said SRV/ship combat would be a thing.

Yes, they said ship/foot/srv combat would be possible. From what we heard, they have it working as well.
From what we heard it will be something you can do as part of missions, although as they said, anti-air defenses will be solid.
So, as i said, unless FD are barefaced lying, then it will be a part of it.
Whether there will be any point of doing this from a PvP perspective, i'm doubtful, but that's not why i play ED. I'm sure some people will organize PvP fights on legs. We might even have our own budding Rexshilla in the community, ready to shout into his microphone while commanding and briefing the troops for combat in a totally unorganic battle.
I don't know... (never done them) but aren't the surface wing missions allegedly played with both SRV & ship?
