I am neither, I am (techically) adult man. But I still like my games like a young boy.

If I come across a boy or a girl flying a ship, I'd probably see if I can find their parents so I can tell them to look better after their children as space is no place for kids.

Anyways, I am pretty indifferent towards female gamers. I am not one of those types who will desperately try to "hook up" with a player they find "attractive" somehow. Of course, I treat female players with the same respect as I would a male player, that has always been the case with me. But that said, some guys I have played with are pretty hot in real life...

Darn, I wish I was a woman, everything would be so much easier. :/

Would it be possible to paint my ship pink or purple in the game?

(on a side note, I know a lot of guys playing female avatars just to get free stuff)

I do have to say I find it... Slightly odd... that people would want an opposite sex avatar. Like when when you get a fly by with Commander(ess) Sarah Connor. "Hey, I'm off to Cequququ to hunt for lost pirate treasure." You say. "Want to join in?".

A deep voice rumbles back down the talk channel. "Yeah, that'd be great", followed by the sound of a crisp packet been thrown on the floor, a belch and some other low pitched rumbling noise resembling another bodily expellation of gas. Woh! Sarah Connor?

I have NO problem with an opposite-sex avatar - I won't play one. But expect a few laughs from other players down the comms line is all I can say.

This is a game where the only significant female presence is alien and disruptive.
When you meet a girl in Elite space, she will probably have six legs, twelve eyes,fangs with poison dripping off, and a lot of disagreeable relatives .

Do we know if ingame voice comms are confirmed? Even if they are, there should still be some non vocal communication especially if we want this game to be an international success. Just be aware that we have a sizable Russian following. I don't know about you, but my Russian is pretty much limited to yes, no and thanks. It would be much easier for localisation to have some automated phrases like TF2's "Need a dispenser here" type of system.

With that my female avatar can keep a dignified silence (maybe they could get Kate Russel to record the English female vocals) and you won't hear the crisp packet being dropped. It will add a further sense of mystery... is that hot female avatar really female, perhaps she's really Russian or maybe it really is Steve from Dagenham or even Sergei from Donetsk

I had originally wanted to play as a small blue furry creature from Alpha Centauri , but as only humans and thargoids are deemed sentient by FD I can't.

As it's likely that I will play two avatars, I may well have one of each.

Not sure if this going to work, but here's one of my avatars from Guild Wars 2 (any resemblance to a certain character in the Thargoid and Fer de Lance is entirely intentional
