For those people that have had their names rejected, submissions will be reopened once we have approved/rejected the other names (stations, npc names, etc). This will probably be tomorrow.
Cheers Ashley.

Can't say i actually had my heart set on a must have name. There will always be something i like available.
Whoop! Thumbs UP for my Commander name..... NPC name still pending though.
Me neither. I was sitting in the train when the notification came. So I was able to enter a name 3 minutes after the mail arrived. It was only several days later I noticed it was 'first pledged first approved' instead of 'first registered first approved', so I had not much hope anymore.
'Elendil' (from the Tolkien stories) would have also be fine, since the name means 'Lover of Stars', but there would be many more cool names. 'Mithrandir' (the elvish name of Gandalf), meaning the 'Grey Wanderer' would also fit my hair color...![]()
Sadface...mine was rejected about which I'm a little surprised as I thought it would be a little obscure...
Ashley, have most names been rejected simply because someone else has already requested it and was an earlier pledger?
Status only says "approval failed"...
Being a duplicate pretty much covers 90% of the rejections. Other than that the only other real reason is the use of a profanity or including a title in your name.
Yes! My name is Commander approved! : D
Commander Approved? Really? That'll wear thin pretty quick!
OOooh. My ship will be called HMSS Drake. That is named after a ship my grandfather sailed on in WW1 (I am not sure if he was on it when it was torpedoed - in any case he survived the war). That ship (based at Devonport dockyard, where later on my grandfather and father both worked) was obviously named after Francis Drake.Commander Hieronymus Drake at your service.
Welcome to the new age.
Thanks Ashley, neither of the other reasons applies to my choice, so I guess it wasn't as obscure as I'd thought it was!
I went with Drake as a surname as a tribute to the great SFD... And I love Hieronymus as a first name anyway
(My daughter is very glad she wasn't born a boy...)
