seems to me that as soon as someone does something you have no control over you are against it BEKTOP.
this is not communism, this is dictatorship.
i don't think this group is for me anymore and im out

bye.

That's sad to read. I'm sure we can find a suitable medium for "secret" communications. I interpreted Bektop's response as a worry about access to Enjin rather than a control issue

I'm more than happy to pay a share of the subscription if Enjin is the best solution.

I'm fine with it.

I had an old Enjin site for an old SWTOR guild that I didn't use and I offered it up as a help for CI. I even offered to pass ownership as I can easily be without the hastle.

Yes it costs money, nothing in this world is free, unfortunately. Its not that expensive from my perspective though, and I would have paid for the basics. That said, I started up the TS because I could (was just messing about with the different tools) and because Araviel and I needed a way of chatting now the in game chat is broken. TS was the natural choice as we both got experience with it. Also, there is an issue with Raidcall not supporting a joystick push to talk button, which will be a problem for people flying stick.

In the end, I think this may be a question of different visions of how and why we want a group. I think Vector want something very loosely organized where as Aravial and I may be looking for a more organized and somewhat classic guild/clan/fleet. Best solution would perhaps be that I create a new group and take it from there and we keep a tight partnership with CI, without one group excluding the other?

I'm sorry if my actions seem that way to you. I just want us to start with actually free things and not go the road of donations. But I do not consider myself above anyone in our group, so if majority's of our members decision would be to stay on enjin - I will happily shut up and continue with it. What I've done so far is that I just voiced my concerns about enjin donation scheme and actually offered something to overcome it (I didn't spent a dime on anything I've shown you so far - and I don' want it to change in the future for any of us).
There is also a problem that enjin doesn't allow for backups (at least at current pricing scheme) - without backups we are at risk off loosing our efforts.
Hope you will change your mind.

This is what I'm concerned about - with donation button from the get go - it shows that we aren't thinking about keeping our alliance free of charge for everyone. Think about 12 month from now when you've spent 100$ on it - wouldn't you feel that you've done more than everyone else for the alliance - well maybe you wouldn't, but someone could. I'm trying to avoid it, by offering free of charge solution for everyone.

I can't see any good reason for you to set apart. I always told you that I'm alright with you being the owner of enjin (I just pointed out that you are, when you said that you aren't). "Nothing in the world is free" - well I just made something completely free with no strings attached. It might change, but I've been using this hosting provider for 2 years and it didn't change it's policy (and I'll find a new free hosting if it start asking for money). With such attitude I fear that more things that could be free of charge will require money. Is it really necessary to set ourselves apart over such small things? Why do you need to create separate communist alliance, when you can be a fleet commander or anything else right here - I don't want to push anyone. What I did so far is just provided a medium for everyone that is free of charge, voiced my intention to keep it that way and said that creating another voice communication channel, when we only have about ~15 members could do more harm than good for us.

I want every comrade to feel equal to one another, everyone should be able to create goals and if others would find it interesting - they could help.

I just picked up a liberate slaves mission with a very generous 497! hours on it. The trouble is I'm so opposed to slavery as a concept I've paid no attention on my wide-ranging travels as to where slaves are sold. Are any extra precautions required - I'm assuming transportation is illegal (even though they are to be released) so it will be a run from patrol vessels and docking in silent mode type job. Can people survive in a cargo hold?

i might have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, and i apologize for my harsh words.
as i explained before i have been looking for a social group, and i felt that Raxnas work to make this group more social was getting undermined in a rather disrespectful way because it did not fit one persons vision.
i might have been wrong about the intentions but communicating through google documents or shared blog accounts is not something i perceived as a very social practice.
and Raxna seems to be allot more cool over his treatment than me, so i do like to apologize

Not sure myself, but I've seen a lot of slaves offers in Empire worlds and on some independent around Empire too

There is also a chat there (at the bottom) and I'm working on adding a forum right now. What already there imho is very good for managing in-game information we might want to share with each-other. And with "password protected posts" we can even start trading infomation with other alliances and players :D (For example we might hear of an event that will affect federation - we can trade it with federation lovers or haters for let's say 1000 units of Live sea Worms)
I never wanted to undermine anyone or treat anyone badly - I just found things I thought were wrong and offered another solution.

Divison already !!!!!! We havent even started yet !!!!
Personally I like bektop site.
But bektops site is free and may well serve our purposes and I also think its a lot easier to attract people to your cause if it doesn't cost owt.
I too dont want to offend those pushing the enjin site which is good as well.
I may be way off the mark here because I have no experience of guilds or whatever but can you do it with facebook or google+ or does that entangle real and virtual in some horrible way.

I'm just grateful to anyone who has put in the time and effort to make this easier!

Speaking of easy - reaching allied status with EPP isn't. I've made about 240K credits running about 2: 1 monetary for charitable missions only for EPP - no trading or other missions - I've taken out a few Brotherhood pirates who tried to intercept me - and STILL I'm only friendly. I guess it takes a lot more to get into the good books of a major faction.

I've just completed 6 commodity locating missions out of Eranin 4 Survey - EPP is gaining a good hold there

Is this the exact name: Eranin 4 Survey? I can't find it via the starchart.

Edit: nevermind! It's a station! Silly me. :D I just met you there btw. Hailed you even, but you didn't reply. :p

The chat is very broken atm for some of us. Today I was able to chat very briefly with Reklaw, but then I got the error message again. So sorry if not answering, I don't mean to be rude.

Comrades! I shall be happy to lay down my somewhat virtual life and ship to free the working people from the oppression of the capitalist pigs and totalitarian despots! every human deserves to provide what they can and receive what they need, free from the tyrannical false idols of the empire and the oppressive cogs of the capitalist machine. Where do I sign up?

Welcome comrade! Tell me your in-game commander name, so I can update the front post. And you might want to check our page (the link is above)

Maybe I'll join. I am kind of new at ED. So, don't know what to expect when I get ED Mercenary Pack. Would appreciate nation or alliance based sandboxing however.

I don't roleplay. I do PvE mostly and some PvP.

Comrades, I have found a source of slaves, held captive in Federation territory some 50 LYs from Eranin. I have bought 4 and will be releasing them to spread our message of hope and cooperation as soon as I am able to fly again. It has been a costly undertaking, (10.5k per slave) but I am hopeful that their liberation into the arms of our brothers and sisters will send an important message to both the Empire and Federation that there is no place for slavery in this universe.

I do carry much scan data on previously unexplored systems, including two earth-like planets, which I hope will allow me to repeat this mission.
