seems to me that as soon as someone does something you have no control over you are against it BEKTOP.
this is not communism, this is dictatorship.
i don't think this group is for me anymore and im out bye.
I'm sorry if my actions seem that way to you. I just want us to start with actually free things and not go the road of donations. But I do not consider myself above anyone in our group, so if majority's of our members decision would be to stay on enjin - I will happily shut up and continue with it. What I've done so far is that I just voiced my concerns about enjin donation scheme and actually offered something to overcome it (I didn't spent a dime on anything I've shown you so far - and I don' want it to change in the future for any of us).
There is also a problem that enjin doesn't allow for backups (at least at current pricing scheme) - without backups we are at risk off loosing our efforts.
Hope you will change your mind.
I'm sure we can find a suitable medium for "secret" communications. I interpreted Bektop's response as a worry about access to Enjin rather than a control issue. I'm more than happy to pay a share of the subscription if Enjin is the best solution.
This is what I'm concerned about - with donation button from the get go - it shows that we aren't thinking about keeping our alliance free of charge for everyone. Think about 12 month from now when you've spent 100$ on it - wouldn't you feel that you've done more than everyone else for the alliance - well maybe you wouldn't, but someone could. I'm trying to avoid it, by offering free of charge solution for everyone.
I'm fine with it.
I had an old Enjin site for an old SWTOR guild that I didn't use and I offered it up as a help for CI. I even offered to pass ownership as I can easily be without the hastle.
Yes it costs money, nothing in this world is free, unfortunately. Its not that expensive from my perspective though, and I would have paid for the basics. That said, I started up the TS because I could (was just messing about with the different tools) and because Araviel and I needed a way of chatting now the in game chat is broken. TS was the natural choice as we both got experience with it. Also, there is an issue with Raidcall not supporting a joystick push to talk button, which will be a problem for people flying stick.
In the end, I think this may be a question of different visions of how and why we want a group. I think Vector want something very loosely organized where as Aravial and I may be looking for a more organized and somewhat classic guild/clan/fleet. Best solution would perhaps be that I create a new group and take it from there and we keep a tight partnership with CI, without one group excluding the other?
I can't see any good reason for you to set apart. I always told you that I'm alright with you being the owner of enjin (I just pointed out that you are, when you said that you aren't). "Nothing in the world is free" - well I just made something completely free with no strings attached. It might change, but I've been using this hosting provider for 2 years and it didn't change it's policy (and I'll find a new free hosting if it start asking for money). With such attitude I fear that more things that could be free of charge will require money. Is it really necessary to set ourselves apart over such small things? Why do you need to create separate communist alliance, when you can be a fleet commander or anything else right here - I don't want to push anyone. What I did so far is just provided a medium for everyone that is free of charge, voiced my intention to keep it that way and said that creating another voice communication channel, when we only have about ~15 members could do more harm than good for us.
I want every comrade to feel equal to one another, everyone should be able to create goals and if others would find it interesting - they could help.
